LOVE Island star Chris Hughes has admitted he does not regret exposing Katie Price's flirty text messages as he opened up about the issue on Loose Women today.
The reality star and his best pal Kem Cetinay appeared on the daytime talk show and spoke about the headline-making row with hosts Andrea McLean, Stacey Solomon, Kaye Adams and Anne Diamond.
When asked why he had decided to speak publicly about Katie's messages, Chris explained: "Basically, I thought that was a flirty message.
"To message someone at three in the morning when he has a girlfriend, and repeatedly messaging... I think that's flirty."
He continued: "But then she said she never sent them and basically accused me of lying. In the heat of the moment I shared the messages and I maybe shouldn’t have done. But I don’t regret it."
Kaye revealed Katie had text her fellow panellists and asked them to quiz Chris about why he made the messages public.
Chris replied: "I don't know how it even got out in the first place. I was asked if they were flirty messages and I said yes. But then she said it never happened and made it seem like I was doing something or saying something bad.
"I wouldn't have done what I did if I did respond to her messages because then it would be a bit muggy."
Chris, 24, and Katie, 39, have been embroiled in a row over messages she sent him.
Earlier this week he finally released the initial Instagram message then WhatsApp messages.

Katie’s initial message on Instagram was made days after he had exited the Love Island villa.
It read: “Hey, so good to meet you yesterday... Anyway [here is] my number and would love to go shooting. Obviously this stays private."
And a second message said: "I don't think [you're] getting my messages are you?
"I think they are getting deleted. I'm not here to cause trouble at all. Yes you know I like you! And here for advice too.
"You will just get people wanting money out of you so just try [to] be careful."
Chris blasted Katie, 39, after she insisted flirty messages were not sent as he released the screenshots.
He said: "Okay sweetheart. Being pied shouldn't make you bitter."
And recently Katie made a thinly veiled dig back at Chris at a live show.
She said: "Some celebrities should be careful with what they say and not out people.
"It will come back and bite them on the bum. Do you know what I mean?"
The Sun revealed Chris had refused to appear on the show today if Katie would be on the panel.
The reality star told pals he checked that she would not be on the show before agreeing to appear alongside best mate Kem.
Chris, who has been going out with Olivia Attwood since meeting on the show, and married Katie have previously appeared on the show together and in August Chris had revealed she had been sending him flirty texts.
