Hugh Hefner dead at 91: Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton lead tributes to the Playboy mogul after he passed away

KIM Kardashian and Paris Hilton have led tributes to Playboy mogul Hugh Hefner after he passed away at the age of 91.

Stars have flocked to Twitter to pay their respects after the legendary publisher died from natural causes at the Playboy mansion.

News of Hefner’s death broke last night and sent the world of entertainment into mourning.

Many of his famous friends and fans have now taken to social media to remember the man who founded the groundbreaking magazine in 1953.

In a post on Twitter, Kim wrote: “RIP to the legendary Hugh Hefner! I’m so honored to have been a part of the Playboy team! You will be greatly missed! Love you Hef! Xoxo.”

Paris shared a montage of pictures showing her with Hefner and she added a sweet message about the Playboy founder.

She wrote: “So sad to hear the news about Hugh Hefner.

“He was a legend, innovator & one of a kind. We had many fun & incredible memories together.

Kim later revealed she had been texting her longtime pal Paris and they were reminiscing about their times at the mansion with Hefner.

She tweeted: “Paris & I are reminiscing about the Playboy parties at the mansion & how much we love Hef. She’s texts me the perfect Hef emojis 👯👯👯👯👴🏼👯👯👯👯👯.”

Paris added: “Going to miss Hef!😿And yes so many fun times with you at the #PlayboyMansion. 👯 #LingerieParty.”

Playboy favourite Pamela Anderson also shared an emotional tribute to the Playboy boss, remembering him in an emotional message posted on Instagram along with a video which showed her crying.

She revealed last time she saw Hefner he was using a walking frame and was struggling with his hearing.

She wrote: “Goodbye #Hef Mr Hefner… I am me because of you. You taught me everything important about freedom and respect.

Katie Price appeared on the cover of the raunchy magazine back in 2002 and she spent time with Hugh at the Playboy mansion.

She shared a simple tribute to him on her Instagram page, uploading a picture of them together, and writing: “RIP Hugh Hefner.”

Jenny McCarthy shared a picture of her own Playboy cover and offered a poignant tribute to Hef.

In a post on Instagram, she wrote: “RIP #Hef Thank you for being a revolutionary and changing so many people’s lives, especially mine. Thank you for choosing me to be one of your bunnies. I hope I made you proud. I will forever be grateful.”

Baywatch star Donna D’Errico credited the late publisher with kickstarting her career by featuring her in the magazine.

She tweeted: “Hugh Hefner put me in Playboy & ignited my career.

” am forever indebted, Hef. You will forever live on as an icon of epic proportions. #RIP.”

Hollywood actor Robe Lowe wrote: “I had a number of great conversations and with Hugh Hefner.

“Was such an interesting man. True legend. What an end of an era!”

Courtney Stodden tweeted: “RIP hef. You were always sweet to me on movie nights at the mansion.

“Love to you @crystalhefner xo #RIPHef.”

Hedi Montag added: “RIP @hughhefner 💛 thank you for making me part of the Playboy family.

“Sending lots of love and prayers to @crystalhefner.

Carmen Electra also credited Hefner with giving her a start showbiz, and admitted she has been in flood of tears since hearing the news.

In a post on Instagram, Carmen wrote: “R.I.P. Hugh Hefner 😥…

“I am so grateful I had the opportunity to shoot many Playboy celebrity pictorials with u Hef❤️ thank u for picking me and Bringing me into the magical world of Playboy !

“I just can’t stop crying and I can’t imagine how many bunnies are crying for u too.

“U are a class act and I will always have gratitude for your kindness…”

Jenna Dewan Tatum tweeted: “Met @hughhefner while screening the pilot episode of The Playboy Club at the mansion w/ my dad and he couldn’t have been more lovely. RIP🙏🏻”

Staff at Hefner’s Playboy company announced news of his death last night in a statement.

His son Cooper also offered some words as a tribute to his dad.

In a statement, Cooper said: “My father lived an exceptional and impactful life as a media and cultural pioneer and a leading voice behind some of the most significant social and cultural movements of our time in advocating free speech, civil rights and sexual freedom.

“He defined a lifestyle and ethos that lie at the heart of the Playboy brand, one of the most recognizable and enduring in history.

“He will be greatly missed by many, including his wife Crystal, my sister Christie and my brothers David and Marston, and all of us at Playboy Enterprises.”
