Troubled Aaron Carter will spend ‘three months’ in rehab after being convinced to seek help by TV show The Doctors
The popstar is said to have sought help after intervention from US TV show The Doctors. The I Want Candy singer previously tested positive for meth on the programme
AARON Carter will spend the next three months in rehab after being convinced to seek help for his drug demons by American TV show The Doctors.
Last week, we reported how the child pop star opted for help after being told by pals he "looks like he's dying".
The tattooed I Want Candy hitmaker is working to "improve his health" following a rocky few months including an arrest for driving under the influence of drugs.
Today, the bottle blonde will spend the next quarter of a year inside - and it was the persistence of an interventionist from telly show The Doctor's which proved crucial.
Recently, Aaron tested positive for cocaine and meth on the American programme and according to sources close to Aaron's family, a show representative visited Aaron's Florida pad, returning the following day and waiting for four hours until he finally had chance to chat to the star.
TMZ reported: "Aaron's supposed to be in rehab in California for 3 months," before adding the programme was paying for his medical treatment, yet it was not being filmed.
Meanwhile, a representative for Backstreet Boy Nick Carter's little brother added: "Aaron’s decision to enter a facility was his own and a choice he made for himself.
"He very much wishes to be left alone so he can focus on his wellness."
Last week, we reported how Aaron was seeking treatment after months of refusing to do so.
The "concerned" music idol previously explained: "I'm concerned about my overall health because people tell me I look like I have AIDs or I look like I have cancer or I look like I'm dying."
A rep for Aaron said in a statement: "Aaron has decided to enter a facility to improve his health and work on his overall wellness.

"He is going to do this privately and focus all his attention on being the best person and performer possible.
"He is grateful for the support and love from his fans and looks forward to coming back stronger than ever before."
