Sinitta to appear on Celebrity First Dates after Simon Cowell snubbed her on The X Factor
SHE told her estranged BFF SIMON COWELL to “kiss my black ass” in my Bizarre column yesterday after being snubbed from The X Factor.
But hopefully things will get better for SINITTA and she won’t have to make any similar propositions next time she’s on camera.
The glam singer has signed up to Celebrity First Dates in a bid to find a new man after being betrayed by Simon and splitting from her long-term boyfriend.
Sinitta agreed to be set up on the Channel 4 show after breaking up with her agent Jason Gale in January following a three-year romance.
A source said: “Sinitta hasn’t had the best of luck with men.
“Her relationship broke down and she’s going through a rocky period with Simon.
“She’s definitely ready to have another strong male influence in her life.
“Sinitta once dated BRAD PITT so she’s got some very high standards.
“But hopefully she’ll manage to find a man who will treat her right.”
Sinitta’s date would have to go drastically wrong for her to be dumped for another woman, like she was when Simon chose CHERYL to join him at this year’s Judges’ Houses.
She angrily told me: “Simon promised me the job for life. He said he didn’t ever want to do it with anyone else.
“I have sulked and pouted and had the diva tantrum after my time, money and plans were wasted.
“My anger wants to slap all their butts and demand an apology and compensation. But they have no class.”
I previously revealed last year’s X Factor winner MATT TERRY will also be appearing on Celebrity First Dates.
And earlier this month, Prime Minister THERESA MAY confirmed in the House of Commons my exclusive story that Tory MP MICHAEL FABRICANT will be taking part, too.
After a tough few months, I really hope Sinitta finds someone So Macho.
A ‘Wold Tour
AFTER a series on the road, The Grand Tour studio tent has a permanent home.
JEREMY CLARKSON, RICHARD HAMMOND and JAMES MAY will be based in the Cotswolds for the upcoming Amazon series.
But the trio will still film segments around the world – despite Richard crashing a supercar in Switzerland in June and Jeremy going down with pneumonia on holiday in Mallorca last month.
Executive producer Andy Wilman said: “It’s clear that the most popular element is when the chaps are roaming the globe on their big adventures, so that’s what we’re doing a lot more of.
“We’ll keep the studio in one place – given how accident-prone they are at the minute, that can only be a good thing!” I doubt that will stop them.
Katya’s Ed Start
FORMER politician and last year’s Strictly fan fave ED BALLS clearly misses the glitz and glamour of the show.
He dropped in on the rehearsals of his ex-dance partner KATYA JONES and current Strictly hopeful Holby City actor JOE McFADDEN and with Katya.
A source said: “Ed knows Katya’s in with a much better chance this year as Joe is a younger and a better dancer, but their comedy pairing helped make her one of the new star dancers.”
Sadly for Ed, it only takes two to tango.
soapbox
MEL tells Bethany about her domestic abuse ordeal at the hands of Nathan in CORONATION STREET.
But she refuses to tell the police, for fear that he’ll come after her.
When Sarah arrives home, she and Bethany urge Mel to come forward and to testify against Nathan.
Elsewhere, Michelle tells Steve she is investing her divorce cash in the bistro and he wishes her well.
In NEIGHBOURS, Terese discovers Courtney’s home life hasn’t been easy and that the job at the day spa was vitally important to her.
She decides to pay out the $5million unfair dismissal claim but Paige stops her, saying the guilt she feels for sleeping with Paul is causing her to make bad choices.
Murder mystery for Bill
VERY few characters make it out of Midsomer alive and it looks like BILL BAILEY could be the next casualty.
The bearded funnyman has revealed he is set to star in the 20th series of ITV drama Midsomer Murders next year, but won’t say whether his character meets a grisly end.
Bill said: “I could tell you, but I’d have to kill you.
“I play a mysterious animator – a recluse who is strange and ambivalent and a bit cantankerous and fiercely guarding of his own privacy.
“So it was great to play against type as usually, I play bewildered farmers from the West Country.
“I did the show for pure enjoyment and it was absolutely brilliant fun to do.”
If the past 20 years are any sort of guide, his character won’t be around for long.
James in the USA
GRANTCHESTER and War & Peace star JAMES NORTON is getting a taste of life Stateside – and he likes it.
The actor, who is filming sci-fi flick Flatliners in LA, said: “The set pieces are really fun. Driving down a freeway on a motorbike on my own at 100kph was the best theme park ride of my life.
“There’s brilliant writers and directors in this town so hopefully if this allows me maybe an entry into that, then great.”
He’d better not forget where he came from . . .
