The streaming service is pulling out all the stops as it heads into Halloween season, here's everything you need to know about the new shows lined-up, and when to catch them

HALLOWEEN and the Autumn season is fast approaching, and to prepare us for the colder nights Netflix has pulled out all the stops to make sure that your nights in won't be dull.

Here's everything you have to look forward to on the streaming service this month...

What TV series can I watch on Netflix in September?

Designated Survivor (airs every Tuesday from October 5)

Kiefer Sutherland stars in this political drama of the unlikely new president of the United States who comes to power after the former leader of the free world and his successors are wiped out in an attack.

Struggling with his newfound responsibility the Designated Survivor, Tom Kirkman (Sutherland) is left questioning who he can trust in the aftermath of the attack, and try and bring together the country in a role he was completely unprepared to take on.

It will arrive on Netflix 24 hours after the show airs in the US.

Suburra (full series available from October 6)

The new series is the streaming service's first ever Italian series, and acts as a prequel to the 2015 film of the same name.

Suburra will focus on the city of Rome and the underworld surrounding criminality, politic and the Church in the deeply religious city.

Branded "the next Narcos", the whole series is set over a 20 day period as a trio of men fight for power (and money) in the Italian Mafia landscape.

Once Upon a Time (airs every Tuesday from October 10)

The end of Once Upon a Time season six saw a massive shift in the town of Storybrooke after the show's lead character, Emma Swan, bowed out of the town for good.

Focusing on The Evil Queen Regina, Rumplestilskin and Captain Hook, the story jumps forward in time and sees a now adult Henry meet his long-lost daughter.

While the plot for the new series is being kept close to the team's chest, we know they'll be flashbacks between the two time zones as they head off on a new adventure and explore new fairy tales.

Jane the Virgin (airs every week from October 14)

The Spanish-American telenovella style romcom is back for another series and after the events of last season, the story has fast forwarded three years - but still isn't any less complicated.

With baby Mateo now a vibrant toddler, Jane is trying to get back into the romance scene- while simultaneously dealing with all the drama involved in her family.

Rafael is now penniless and living in the Villanueva's house, Xo and Rogelio are adjusting to their new life as newlyweds, and just as things seem to be going their way, an ex arrives with a new bun in the oven.

Netflix will upload each new episode of the complicated love story 24 hours after the CW does in the States.

What Netflix Originals are new in September?

One Of Us - out October 20

The new documentary, created by the team behind the successful hit Jesus Camp, will take a look at the world inside Hasidic Judaism.

Taking three years to be made, the series will follow three individuals who after years of living inside the community and practising the ultra-religious form of Judaism, decide to leave.

Riverdale (airs every Thursday from October 12)

Based on the Archie comics, teen drama Riverdale is back with a brand new mystery and a whole load of complications.

Taking an extended run of 22 episodes after the first series only having 13, you can guarantee that this show will be jam-packed with intrigue in the upcoming months.

It also promises to get darker than before, with Archie struggling with his quest for revenge.

MINDHUNTER (full series available from October 13)

Delving into the mind of serial killers, new show MINDHUNTER follows the tale of two FBI agents who try to get into the mind of the US's most depraved murderers.

Created in part by David Fincher - the director behind thrillers Se7en, Gone Girl and Fight Club, you know that this story is going to be gripping and the runaway hit of this season.

Haters Back Off (full series available from October 20)

Back for another series, YouTube star Miranda Sings is still on her mission to become ultra-famous, despite no actual talent.

The character, created by Coleen Ballinger, is clearly going to stop at nothing until she gets what she wants and her delusional sense of grandeur is set to cause even more trouble.

With her mum in the hospital after an accidental stabbing incident, her sister just about ready to disown her and her uncle none-too-pleased about being fired as her manager, is Miranda going to finally see sense?

Seems unlikely.

Stranger Things (full series available from October 27)

Jumping forward to 1985, the smash-hit of 2016 is back for another round with nine more freaky episodes.

As supernatural forces once again begin to affect the town of Hawkins, it is down to the youngsters to once again to save the day.

We already know that their pal Eleven, who was taken by the Demogorgon, will be returning, but the question is how?

Dynasty (airs every Thursday from October 12)

A modern-day reboot of the classic US glamorous soap opera, Dynasty follows the story of two spoilt, rich families and the seedy underbellys of their lives.

Based on the war between Fallon Carrington and her potential new mother-in-law/gold-digger Cristal, the show will be sexy, stylish and always up for a catfight.

Get your claws out.

The film that launched the careers of Matt Damn and Ben Affleck, Good Will Hunting tells the story of a troubled genius who is taken under the wing of a professor at MIT.

With the help of a psychiatrist to help take control of his anger issues, Will finds love and a potential future among those at the university.

However, his home life threatens to become a restriction in his bid for greatness.

Big Daddy - out October 1

Adam Sandler and the much younger Sprouse twins star as an unlikely pair who are stuck together after the toddler is dumped on Sonny's doorstep.

The illegitimate son of his friend who's away on holiday, Sonny (Sandler) ends up bonding with the youngster, and between the pair of them they learn how to grow up.

Rain Man - out October 1

The classic 80s film starring Dustin Hoffman and Tom Cruise sees a pair of brothers learn to grow together while simultaneously taking on Vegas.

Hoffman plays Raymond, a highly autistic son who is left with his father's multi-million dollar estate.

When Charlie discovers this, he bonds with his estranged brother, who he didn't know about, and despite initially trying to rinse him of his money, the pair form a bond.

Notting Hill - out October 17

After a chance meeting, bumbling Englishman Will ends up looking after and falling in love with superstar Anna Scott as she hides from the paparazzi.

The unlikely pairing end up falling for each other, however when their romance is discovered, the future of their relationship is thrown into doubt.

American Sniper - out October 20

The controversial 2014 war film follows the real life story of Chris Kyle, who was known as the deadliest marksman in the Iraq War.

While his professional career may have been taking off, the strain of his line of duty took a heavy toll on his family life.

It was nominated for six Oscars that year - including best actor for Bradley Cooper, who played the lead character.

Horrible Bosses 2 - out October 20

With an all-star cast, this farcical caper sees three bored middle men try and start their own business away from the horrible bosses they tried to kill in the first film.

However, when a businessman steals their idea, they feel it is their best option to kidnap his son and hold him to ransom till they get the money back.
