Who is Spencer Sutherland? X Factor 2017 contestant who is through to the live shows
SPENCER Sutherland has built up a significant following in the US with his YouTube covers as well as his original tracks.
The handsome singer and model is now trying to become a superstar in the UK, by appearing on The X Factor.
Who is Spencer Sutherland?
Spencer Sutherland is an American pop and RnB singer who hails from Pickerington, a small town outside Columbus in Ohio.
The 25-year-old released his first of five singles, "Heartstrings", in 2013, and released an EP titled "Unveiled" in 2015.
He performed his track "Selfish" on NBC's Today show earlier this year, his first appearance on US national TV.
Spencer has performed alongside the likes of Ariana Grande and worked with writers such as Andreas Carlsson, whose credits include Britney Spears, Bon Jovi and Katy Perry.
He has amassed a significant online following, with over 40,000 subscribers tuning in to the mix of original tracks and covers on his YouTube channel.
Away from the mic, Spencer has been a model since 2014, although he admits that this was something he "never set out to do".
Since 2015 he has been dating 20-year-old actress Madison Iseman, who will appear in Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle later this year.
Spencer is an Elvis obsessive, but chose the classic Marvin Gaye track "Let's Get It On" in a bid to wow the X Factor judges.
When is The X Factor 2017 on ITV and who are the judges?
After launching on September 2, X Factor 2017 will continue at 8pm every Saturday and Sunday on ITV.
The show begins, as always, with auditions as the nationwide hunt to find this year's winning act begins.
Despite heavy speculation of a judging shake up, the panel has remained exactly the same as last year.
This means Simon Cowell, Nicole Scherzinger, Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne hold the hopefuls' fates in their hands.
Alisha Dixon has also been appearing in the auditions, having stepped in as a guest judge when Sharon and Nicole were unable to attend.
It's the first time in seven years that X Factor bosses have kept the same judging panel as the year before.
A source said: “The chemistry was perfect last year, so it’s only natural to want to bring the same line-up together again."
Dermot O'Leary will be returning to hosting duties after making his big comeback to the show last year.
