Geordie Shore in chaos as cast row over pay rises delays new series filming for a week
With main player Gaz Beadle gone other key members of the cast feel that they deserve a pay rise – and they won’t be delivering the goods until their contracts are sorted.
GEORDIE Shore filming has been thrown into chaos as big names in the cast are embroiled in a massive pay row.
The MTV stars were meant to start filming for the next series today, however this has been put back to the weekend at the earliest as producers scramble to reach contractual agreements with its biggest stars on an array on issues, including pay.
Fan favourites such as Marnie Simpson, Chloe Ferry and Scotty T are all due back for the next series, but with original cast member Gaz Beadle now gone as he gears for the arrival of his son, many feel there should be more money available for them.
An insider exclusively told The Sun Online: “The big names in the cast are failing to agree terms such as fees for the series.
“With Gaz having left the show they felt there should be more money to dish out.”
The source explained that while all the big names will be returning to the show, the delay in ironing out the details for their contracts means that filming has had to be postponed.
They added: “Many of the shows biggest stars have issues with terms in their agreement with the programme makers which has taken up time, and whilst everyone has now signed for the new series several of its key cast were refusing to agree terms.”
This comes as Marty McKenna lashed out at the show on Sunday night, claiming he’d been sacked.
It seems executives had the final straw with Chloe Ferry’s ex, who was spitting feathers and raged on his account: “So I won’t be going back to @mtvgeordieshore as I’ve been sacked according to a few people.
“F***** in thing is a liftin beg from @mtvex.”
CAST YOUR MIND BACK The amazing transformations the Geordie Shore squad have gone through since joining the show – including Charlotte Crosby and Vicky Pattison
He added: “Yeah mate funny how everyone else know before f****** me.”
One fan, gripped by his messages, then mused why they kept disappearing from his page.
The party animal admitted this was the case and explained: “Yeh my “f***ing idiot agent keep deleting my Tweets.”
This prompted another to quiz: “So you’ve genuinely been sacked?! Wtffff! So you’ve been sacked? Nah man! Give over!!” before another referred to the loss of the show’s stars and put: “Dropping like flies ffs.”
In May, a source told The Sun Online: “Marty is just as bad if not worse than Scotty. He parties hard and it can get too much at times.
“He didn’t fly out to Italy with the cast as producers had already made their minds up and knew he wouldn’t be continuing for the rest of the series.
“Marty will more than likely come back again but for now they want him to take some time out to think about the way he’s behaved recently.”
