WHAT can't you miss on TV tonight? Our guide to the must-see shows...

Sam and Tom (Stephen Moyer, above) are at loggerheads when he finally comes clean about his real reasons for leaving the police force, and tells her the full details of his relationship with his former boss Elizabeth.

We’re on Sam’s side here, because Tom really could have owned up about this years ago.

There’s no time to have it out, though – Simon and Liam Duke arrive at the safe house because prime suspect Roger Lane has escaped from the police and Liam’s boss John is dead.

So instead of Sam and Tom having a full-on row, they have an awkward dinner with their new guests.

Naturally, their house doesn’t appear to be quite as safe as the title of the show might suggest, and after one final twist it builds to a tense finale with an ending which, to be honest, might leave some fans disappointed.

NEW! Russia with Simon Reeve, 9pm, BBC Two

You’ll think you’ve been transported back to the Ice Age as Simon’s (above) latest adventure begins.

Russia’s Kamchatka Peninsula “is where heaven and hell are said to collide”, he explains, with snow as far as the eye can see and in the midst… an erupting volcano!

Even Simon’s enchanted – and he’s seen just about everything. A fascinating journey.

Ambulance, 9pm, BBC One

Repeat callers are the problem for the crews tonight.

Darren and Mel (above) respond to one man who has rung for an ambulance 274 times in the past three months.

He doesn’t need to go to hospital, but they must attend each time anyway.

Eamonn & Ruth’s 7 Year Itch, 10pm, Channel 5

Eamonn & Ruth's 7 Year Itch: Ruth and Eamonn (above) hear some extraordinary tales from couples who have reached the seven-year milestone, including the pair who saw an extra-marital affair as their ‘in’ to the world of swinging

After last week’s episode reassured us that TV’s golden couple aren’t on the verge of a split, we can breathe more easily.

However, Ruth and Eamonn (above) do hear some extraordinary tales from couples who have reached the seven-year milestone, including the pair who saw an extra-marital affair as their ‘in’ to the world of swinging!

That’s one way to address cheating, we suppose…
