Lewis Hamilton is in the studio with Grammy award winner Frank Ocean in a bid to become a music star
LEWIS HAMILTON’s bid to become a chart star has moved up a gear.
I can reveal the F1 champ has been writing music with Grammy-award winner FRANK OCEAN.
Lewis’s pal NAUGHTY BOY has told of the secret collaboration and says a duet could be released soon, potentially as the racing ace’s debut single.
In an exclusive interview, Naughty Boy said: “I’ve heard people talking about Lewis’s music and apparently he is quite good.
“I would love to hear his stuff. I know he writes it.
“There has been a lot of talk on what he’s been up to and I know he’s been writing music with Frank Ocean.
“I think that’ll come out at some point.
“Obviously, he’s busy racing but music is definitely one of his passions too.” Naughty Boy also revealed that Lewis — who has also been in the studio with DRAKE, RITA ORA and TINIE TEMPAH since revealing his music ambition three years ago — also asked the producer to write some tracks for him.
He added: “Do you know what he’s been asking me for? Beats.
“He said in an interview on a Formula 1 show he wanted to work with me.
“I need to actually hit him up and give him some beats.” Naughty Boy has also been busy working on a new track with JOE JONAS, called One Chance to Dance.
He revealed: “My next single is out on October 6 and it’s with Joe Jonas.
“You’re going to love it. It’s special and I think a lot of people will love it because it’s naughty, but so nice as well.
“It’s not like anything on the radio right now, it’s more like a throwback kind of pop song from the Sixties or Seventies.
“It’s going to give people a nostalgic feeling.”
Naughty Boy has also just announced his track, Dancing Machine, featuring LAURA MVULA.
It is part of his new project Naughty Town, celebrating the music of Motown.
I can see what he did there.
A night at the Emmys
GIRL power reigned supreme at the Emmys with two female-led dramas the biggest winners.
The Handmaid’s Tale walked away with the Outstanding Drama Series prize ahead of The Crown and Stranger Things, with leading lady ELISABETH MOSS scooping top actress in a drama series for her role in the show, which claimed three other gongs.
Big Little Lies also bagged five, including top Limited Series and an individual award for NICOLE KIDMAN.
JULIA LOUIS-DREYFUS made Emmy history when she took home the comedy actress award for a record sixth time, while CHARLIE BROOKER (Black Mirror), RIZ AHMED (The Night Of) and JOHN OLIVER (Last Week With John Oliver) were the three Brit winners.
Plenty of stunning guests added to the glamour at the LA bash, with SOPHIA VERGARA looking incredible as she joined her Modern Family co-stars including ARIEL WINTER – who was forced to cover her modesty with her hands when her double-slitted dress shifted in the wind.
STEPHEN COLBERT won rave reviews for his hosting stint, which featured plenty of ribbing at the expense of US President DONALD TRUMP to the delight of the celebrity audience.
And inviting one of Trump’s recently sacked senior aide’s Sean Spicer onto the stage to help with the roasting proved the most discussed moment of the night.

Nicole and Alex smooch
NICOLE KIDMAN bagged Awkward Moment of the Night award at the Emmys by kissing co-star ALEXANDER SKARSGARD on the lips – right in front of her husband KEITH URBAN.
The Big Little Lies stars, who filmed X-rated scenes in the series, shared the little moment when it was announced the Swedish star had won a Best Supporting Actor gong.
Country star Keith managed to keep a smile on his face while applauding the pair.
Perhaps he should do more acting.
Steps here to stay
THE amazing STEPS comeback wasn’t just a one-off to celebrate their 20th anniversary.
CLAIRE RICHARDS has revealed the band are here to stay – and planning a follow-up album to Tears On The Dancefloor.
In an exclusive interview, she said: “We’ve been so surprised by the success and impact of the album that we are definitely going to carry on to next year.
“I think another album is definitely on the cards. We thought it was just going to be a 20-year celebration. But it’s not the end.”
The group yesterday unveiled new song Dancing With A Broken Heart, which Claire described as “one of their best songs”.They’ll be hoping it will be as big a hit as comeback single Scared Of The Dark,
which sparked a chart battle with ED SHEERAN.
Now they’ve just got the small matter of SAM SMITH to deal with.
BIZ BIT
COUNTRY music icon DOLLY PARTON is celebrating 50 years since her first album by releasing an record just for kids. I Believe In You, which will benefit her children’s literacy charity, is set for release on October 13.
Tom pals with Lou
LOUIE SPENCE can liven up any party – even a Hollywood A-lister’s 40th.
The Pineapple Dance Studios hoofer was the star attraction at TOM HARDY’s birthday bash.
Also at Saturday’s do, at the Bike Shed in Shoreditch, East London, were Tom’s actress wife CHARLOTTE RILEY and his movie pals CHANNING TATUM and WOODY HARRELSON. The latter was pictured giggling as Tom straddled the CBB star while sitting on the bar’s motorbike prop.
Louie, inset with Tom, captioned the moment on his Instagram page: “Great night out with #tomhardy straddled his big #triumph & #woodyharrelson trying to get in on the action.”
Tom and Louie’s bromance is now my favourite unlikeliest friendship in showbiz.
FOO STEAM AHEAD
THE FOO FIGHTERS are on course to clinch their fourth No1 album.
The US band are ahead of fellow new entry GARY NUMAN in the midweeks with Concrete and Gold – and their ninth album is outselling the entire Top Ten combined.
With a No1 in touching distance, they’ll no doubt celebrate tonight while playing a special event celebrating The O2’s 10th birthday. The place will be rocking.
Bizarre jukebox
THERE are loads of new tunes out this week and I bring you the best of them.
My is updated every Tuesday with 15 tracks from my favourite artists and new talent. Here are four on this week’s list:
- Heartline: CRAIG DAVID is back with another R&B banger, a teaser from his seventh album, which features collaborations with BASTILLE and JP COOPER.
- Too Much To Ask: NIALL HORAN does not hold back on this ballad from upcoming debut album Flicker. He says it’s a “special” song to him about a break-up.
- Alone: After three years off to get wed and have her first child, JESSIE WARE returns with a soulful pop anthem. Jessie said her pregnancy influenced the song.
- Misbehaving: This catchy tune, from LABRINTH’s upcoming second album, is his first release in three years. It is used on the new Apple Watch Series 3 ad.
