Anna Faris gets emotional on Emmy Awards 2017 stage after shunning the red carpet following high profile split from Chris Pratt
ANNA Faris struggled to hide her emotions as she made her first public appearance following her split with Chris Pratt at the Emmy Awards 2017.
Anna shunned the red carpet and instead chose to enter the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles through the back door.
As she walked out on stage with Allison Janney to present the gong for Outstanding Variety Sketch Series, Anna appeared emotional as the audience clapped and cheered.
While Chris hit the red carpet just days after the news of their marriage breakdown, Anna has kept firmly out of the spotlight.
The actress kept her composure however and smiled as she presented the award to Saturday Night Live producer Lorne Michaels.
Although she’s shied away from the limelight, Anna has spoken openly about her relationship with Chris in recent weeks.
Speaking on podcast My Favourite Murder earlier this month, Anna told a caller that “life is too short to be with someone who doesn’t have your back” and appeared to blame herself for the relationship’s failure.
The actress was advising a listener, Katy, who’d called in for relationship advice, Anna launched into a heartfelt rant about how women should be supported by their partners.
She said: “Don't be afraid of the future. You're young, you're in LA, there are lots of amazing people.
“Don't be afraid to feel your independence if things aren't right.”
Just one day previous, Anna broke her silence to thank fans for their support, telling them “Hey, dear listeners.
“I just want to thank you all so much for all the love I've been receiving, and I truly love you.”
She’s only been seen in public once since announcing her split from husband Chris – looking tired and drawn in LA.
Chris, on the other hand, has made a red carpet appearance without his wedding ring and been spotted flying out of the city on a private jet with a mystery blonde.
The couple revealed they’d split in an emotional statement, saying they were “legally separating” and “We tried hard for a long time, and we’re really disappointed.”
Fans went on to blame Jennifer Lawrence, Chris's Passengers co-star, for the break-up.
Charlie Brooker's gong for Black Mirror and Riz Ahmed’s Outstanding Lead Actor win during the ceremony was a shining light for British talent, as US TV shows Big Little Lies and Saturday Night Live dominated.
Benedict Cumberbatch, Ewan McGregor and Anthony Hopkins missed on awards, as well as The Crown's Claire Foy.
