The second series of the BBC1 drama showed the brunette actress, 39, who plays fiesty GP Gemma Foster, clad in sexy lace lingerie as she romped with her son’s teacher James, portrayed by Prasanna Puwanarajah.

Earlier on in the episode two male characters raised eyebrows as they discussed explicit sex positions, including “the butter churner”, over pints in the pub.

Gemma’s ex-husband Simon, played by Bertie Carvel, boasted about her prowess in the bedroom to her neighbour Neil, played Adam James, revealing intimate details about the mother of his son.

The explosive show also revealed showed Gemma boozing with one of her teenage son’s mates and spying on her ex-husband’s house in the bushes.
