George Clooney reveals why he hates Hollywood baby names and says daughter Ella is the spitting image of Amal
The actor also says he is very good at changing nappies - and claims his new son Alexander is 'like a moose' because he 'just sits and eats'.
GEORGE Clooney has explained why he hates "ridiculous" Hollywood baby names and why he and wife Amal opted for "normal" ones for their new twin babies.
The actor, 56, added that he is now a dab hand at changing nappies - and expressed his desire to raise Ella and Alexander to know their "privileged" life happened "by accident".
The American hunk, who is promoting his new movie Suburbicon starring best pal Matt Damon and Julianne Moore, also says his daughter is the spit of Amal, while his "thug" son Alex acts like a "moose".
Asked why they opted for Alex and Ella, George told People: “[We] didn’t want to give them one of those ridiculous Hollywood names that don’t mean anything.
“They’ll already have enough difficulty bearing the weight of their celebrity.”
And unlike Jay-Z and Beyonce, who have reasons for naming their twins Rumi and Sir, it seems Amal and George chose the names rather at random.
Previously commenting on the baby naming, George explained: “We figured these kids are going to be looked at a lot and watched and [have their] every move sort of judged, and we wanted them to at least have a break with the names.
"So we looked for some sort of normal names.
"We didn’t have any great inspiration. It wasn’t Alexander the Great and Ella Fitzgerald.”
Now George is settling into fatherhood - which he says he never expected to happen to him - he's getting to know is twins' personalities.
George gushed: "My daughter looks exactly like Amal. She has big beautiful eyes... It's incredible.

“They start out with a personality right off the bat. [Alexander] is a thug already...
“He’s a moose! Literally, he just sits and he eats," he joked.
Explaining that he now realises he has "no control" over his life now kids are involved, George opened up about how he feels "much older" too.
"I'm a mess. But [Amal] is like an Olympic athlete," he said. "You've got two kids, you're breastfeeding like crazy.
"I'm very good, by the way, at diaper changing. This is an all-new adventure for me, but I've been through it with all my friends, so it's not really that much of a surprise...
"[Fatherhood] has made me much older. It doesn't fundamentally change you, but I'm excited to see who these two people are going to be in life. I'm very proud to be [a dad]. I feel honoured to be a part of it."
But what weighs heaviest on the superstar's mind is the need to make his children "compassionate" and, because of their huge "privilege", aware of their debt to the world.
He told Entertainment Tonight Canada: "A lot of things make me nervous now with kids.
"What you want from your children is you want to make sure that they are compassionate and that they pay attention to the rest of the world.
"They are going to be born into a life that, in some ways, is going to be very hectic [...] But, they're also going to be born into a place of privilege and so they're going to have to learn that [it's] just by accident.
"And everything else is - you just have to pay attention to people."
Remarking on how surprised he is at his life transformation, George added a bit of advice for fans, saying: “Don’t make plans. You always have to just enjoy the ride.”
As of 2017, George is worth an estimated £380m - and the actor-turned-director has properties all over the world, but spends most of his time by Lake Como in Italy.
Amal, 39, upstaged many of the female actresses at the big Venice Film Festival gala this month in a stunning lilac gown after shifting her baby weight within weeks.
