NO LOVE LOST

Love Island’s ‘muggy’ Mike Thalassitis slams Kem Cetinay and Chris Hughes as a ‘pair of helmets’ and accuses them of letting fame go to their heads

LOVE Island's Mike Thalassitis has revealed there's no love lost between him and ex co-stars Kem Cetinay and Chris Hughes after branding them "helmets" in a scathing new interview.

The 24-year-old made it clear he's no fan of the Love Island duo by suggesting they've let fame go to their heads following life at the villa.

Taking a swipe at Kem and Chris, he told PA at the TV Choice Awards this week: "I'm still the same, got the same group of mates.

"Some people let it go to their heads, not going to mention any names... Chris and Kem, helmets the pair of them, but I'm not worried about them tonight."

Mike was dumped twice from the villa: the first time in week three after the girls had to send someone home, and again when he returned for a second chance in week six, but left the next week.

Kem, meanwhile, won Love Island with his girlfriend Amber Davies, while Chris and his girlfriend Olivia Attwood finished in third place.

Mike added that he was himself in the villa and branded the viewers "stupid" for failing to see past the show's editing.

"The public are stupid – they'll look at [the finished episodes] and think 'he's this, he's that', but sometimes being real comes across as being fake on TV, but it's not," claimed Mike.

"Doing what the public wants is fake and I wouldn't do that."

Mike had issues with Chris inside the villa after Olivia briefly switched her allegiance from Chris to Mike.

It meant when Mike returned to the show for a second time, it didn't go down that well with Chris, who had patched things up with Liv in Mike's absence.

When Mike was eliminated again, he warned Chris before leaving to be cautious around Olivia - which did not go down well with Chris.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun Online after leaving the villa, Chris took a swipe at Mike by saying: "He was probably just trying to stay relevant.”

It appeared the two guys had patched up their differences, however, as Mike later shared a photo to Instagram of them posing together at the reunion party, joking: "All ends well! Nice little smudge from the reunion... Thanks to this man I'll always be known as 'MUGGY MIKE'."

Neither Kem nor Chris have responded to Mike's comments, instead focusing on filming their upcoming ITV2 show.

As well as attracting big money record deal offers to record their villa rap, the pair were signed up to star in a two-part series called Chris & Kem: Straight Outta Love Island, which follows them as they adjust to post-villa life.

The cameras will watch the duo as they go on a musical adventure exploring the world of rap, grime and hip-hop, with special cameos from their Love Island pals.

Kem also told The Sun Online that the men would visit each other's hometowns and try their hand at a job swap.

Kem said: "Amber aside, Chris was the best thing to come out of the Love Island villa for me. He’s like an actual brother, so when the opportunity came up to pick up where we left off and take our bromance to the next level it was a no brainer.”

Chris added: "Some of my best nights in the Love island villa were rapping around the fire with my boy Kem. We're not here to take part, we're here to takeover!”

The best pals are also releasing a workout DVD in November called 100% Fit, while Kem and girlfriend Amber have been fronting their own series of segments on Good Morning Britain over the summer.

While they're both incredibly busy and in-demand, they've also both admitted to finding fame overwhelming.

Chris told  magazine: "I hate it. I hate fame - straight up. I'm nice, so I smile all the time when people want photos, but I don't enjoy it.

"It's not glamorous and I just don't enjoy it."

Kem, meanwhile, told The Sun Online: "I'm still trying to deal with all the fame. It's really overwhelming and I do feel so much pressure not to disappoint people as they're always so lovely and happy to see me."

Mike, meanwhile, found himself making headlines at the TV Choice Awards by cosying up to ex Towie star Jessica Wright and flirting outrageously with former flame Jessica Shears - whom he bedded behind her boyfriend Dom Lever's back while Dom was still in the villa.

Jess has always denied sleeping with Mike and is still going strong with Dom.

The couple were seen hanging out with Mike and his date Danielle Sellers at the awards on Monday night, with a source telling The Sun Online: "The two couples seemed relaxed in each other's company.

"They waited together before it was their turn to chat to the press and happily posed for pictures together. Jess and Dom looked loved up and didn't seem fazed by Mike being in such close proximity."
