Katie Price confesses Peter Andre is STILL the love of her life and insists she never wanted them to split up as she admits being ‘so unhappy’ in marriage to Kieran Hayler
KATIE Price has sensationally admitted ex-husband Peter Andre is still "the love of her life" - and said that she only married Alex Reid as an attempt to "get over" him.
The model, 39 - who also said she has been "so unhappy" while married to Kieran Hayler - added that she "never wanted to split" from Peter, who's the father of her son Junior and daughter Princess.
Talking to an audience in Preston on her tour, Katie recalled what it was like to meet Peter, 44, on I'm A Celeb in 2004 as their "fairytale" began.
She said: "Going into that show I didn’t realise I would find the man I was going to marry – as soon as I saw him I thought ‘I well fancy him.'"
Of their romance, she added: “We were obsessed with each other, I never had a relationship quite like that before.
“He was the love of my life, I never wanted to split up with him but we did and that’s that."
When her 12-year-old son Junior, who was on stage with her, asked why she married her second husband, fighter Alex Reid, she replied: "I was trying to get over your dad.”
Katie then claimed that she "only wanted to be married once", and revealed she was miserable with Kieran by commenting: “If you’re not happy just get out – that’s what I say.”
Katie and Peter split in 2009, with the Page 3 star later claiming her partner was "jealous" of her "platonic" relationship with dressage trainer Andrew Gould and disapproved of their boozy nights out.
Reflecting on how she mourns her marriage to Pete, Katie added: "I wanted the fairytale but it never happened that way – and it’s the same for a lot of people you speak to."
Peter is now married to wife number two Emily, 28, with whom he has two children after she gave up her career as a doctor to be with him.
And now Katie, who ditched Kieran after finding out he'd cheated on her again with the family nanny, says she wants to begin a career in medicine, too, by training as a nurse.
The wannabe pop star explained: "Before I became famous I was training to be a nurse. I’m not training to be a paramedic – I still want to finish it [training].
"I’m going to start again – if you want to do something you will find the time to do it.
“I’ve got five kids and it’s amazing what you fit in the days when you have to.”
Katie's tour continues on September 6 in Brighton and continues through to November 4 when it ends in Folkstone.
