X Factor teen Holly Tandy brings her musician grandfather to tears with emotional audition
The 15-year-old schoolgirl blew the judges away with her performance of Alicia Keys' If I Ain't Got You as she fulfilled a lifelong dream of auditioning on the ITV show
TEENAGER Holly Tandy brought her own grandfather to tears during her X Factor audition.
The 15-year-old schoolgirl blew the judges away with her performance of Alicia Keys' If I Ain't Got You as she fulfilled a lifelong dream of auditioning on the ITV show.
Host Dermot O'Leary stepped in to comfort her proud musician grandfather as he began crying at his talented granddaughter's performance.
Simon Cowell was immediately impressed with the singer from Burley and her determination to keep going despite having people walk out on her gigs before.
She said: "Can I tell you something Holly Tandy, you define determination. For someone who went into a club and people walked out and you've come back fighting and you're 15-years-old.
"This was a good audition Holly, I'm very impressed."
However, Simon had some words of warning for the talented teen and told her to stop watching YouTube videos to learn to sing after Nicole had to help her perfect her audition.
"We do pick up on this," he said talking about her hand movements that Nicole motioned for her to stop doing during her audition.
"If you go on YouTube and watch how Americans sing, then you copy, and then you're no longer British."
Sharon Osbourne told her that she had work to do to perfect her talent, saying: "You're only 15 so you've got to develop your style."

Nicole Scherzinger: "I love you, like you were staring at us in our eyeballs and that takes a lot of courage. I think there's so much of potential here."
