Who is Grace Davies?

Grace Davies is a singer-songwriter and warehouse assistant who appeared on this year's X Factor.

The 20-year-old hails from the Lancashire village of Langho, near Blackburn, and first realised her musical talent playing Nancy in a primary school production of Oliver!

She has been writing her own material for several years, her website describing her style as having a "quirky individuality, which perfectly reflects her down-to-earth personality".

The talented Northerner counts the likes of Ed Sheeran, Emeli Sande and Mumford & Sons among her songwriting influences.

In the summer of 2015, she independently released her debut EP My Kingdom, and she's featured as a 'BBC Introducing' artist, as well as featuring on 6 Music and Radio One.

She now shares management with X Factor 2011 star Janet Devlin, and Grace revealed that the pair had moved into a house together in London earlier this year.

A regular live performer, Grace even appeared alongside Olly Murs following a supporting slot with the former X Factor finalist last year.

Recording covers of classics from Bob Dylan and David Bowie, as well as more contemporary artists like Tove Lo, has also built Grace a significant following online.

She boasts over 11,000 followers on the streaming website SoundCloud, and her cover of the Adele hit 'Hello' went viral last year – astonishingly amassing over 50 MILLION plays.

Why was she "told off" by Sharon Osbourne?

She was the early favourite for The X Factor crown this year but hopeful Grace Davies has been brought firmly back down to earth.

Judge Sharon Osbourne hauled Grace in for a stern talking to about her behaviour behind the scenes, and warned her to rein in her diva attitude.

Mrs O, who boasts nearly 40 years at the top of showbiz, was furious after hearing rumours Grace had been difficult and stroppy with the show’s producers and crew.

And in a stern dressing down backstage after last Sunday’s show, Sharon made it clear she won’t tolerate any more antics from the teenager.

An insider revealed: “Grace is undoubtedly a talent and marked herself out as a definite contender early on, but it seems to have gone right to her head.

“Sharon is having none of it and after she heard some of the talk about Grace’s behaviour backstage, she pulled her into her dressing room at the studios.

“It was very awkward for all involved, but hopefully that’ll be the end of the matter and Grace will get back to her best.”

When did The X Factor series end?

The X Factor usually finishes a fortnight - or less - before or Christmas Day to ensure the winner has a good chance of bagging Christmas Number One.

However, this year one of Simon's "big" changes saw the final moved way forward to Sunday December 3 at 7.20pm.

It went up against Strictly Come Dancing on BBC1 at the same time.
