EIGHT lads have been sent back in time to the heyday of the Roman Empire to see if they could cope as gladiators.

What time is Bromans on ITV2?

Bromans continues tonight (Thursday, November 2) at 9pm on ITV2, with the eighth and final hour-long episode.

Hunky torsos and skimpy bikinis are just as rife in the new show as they were on Love Island.

However, the contestants involved in the gruelling show now know that's where the similarites with the reality smash hit end.

Tonight's episode goes head-to-head with The Ganges with Sue Perkins on BBC One, ITV's Gordon Ramsay on Cocaine and the Channel 4 reality show Educating Greater Manchester.

How are David McIntosh and Tom Bell involved in Bromans?

The lads are put through their paces by former Gladiator David McIntosh, and are trained to compete in scorching hot temperatures.

He gives them daily, physical tasks to build up their strength and those who don’t cut it will be banished from the city.

Also featuring on the show are the “eyes and ears of the elusive Emperor”, his assistant called Dominus, played by actor Tom Bell.

How does Bromans work?

Cameras follow the eight couples as they are transported back to the ancient world.

During their experience the glamorous group will wear the attire of the day, including sandals, leather loin cloths and gold lamé pants.

Drama is set to take place in and out of the arena, as the couples will be sharing a living space inside a Roman palace.

The couples battle it out to secure a place in the Emperor's Games where one of them will take home the “Emperor's gold” which is a prize pot of £10,000.

While the men train to see if they can cut it as gladiators, the girlfriends are also be part of the experience.

They help train and prepare the boys for the Games as well as doing ancient Roman tasks like winemaking and sculpting.
