Barrie, 57, starred as irritating leisure centre manager Gordon Brittas in the BBC comedy for six years from 1991 until 1997.

The show ended with Gordon having dreamt up the entire seven seasons, but a new reports suggests BBC bosses may soon be signing the cast up for new episodes.

Red Dwarf legend Barrie is reuniting with the other stars of the show at Ringwood Health and Leisure Centre in Hampshire, where the series was filmed, and the actors hope the reunion will revive comeback talks with BBC bosses.

A source told : "“Most of the actors would also love to do a new series of the show.

"There is hope that the event might boost an interest.
