Jamie Oliver compares Gordon Ramsay to a dementia sufferer after the foul-mouthed chef repeatedly fired barbs at him during a TV stint
JAMIE Oliver has compared rival chef Gordon Ramsay to a dementia sufferer after he repeatedly mocked him on telly earlier this year.
Foul-mouthed Gordon peppered his week-long stint hosting ITV’s The Nightly Show with digs at Jamie — calling him “fat” and attacking his cooking.
Jamie, 42, said: “All my friends and people I work with in TV were very p***** off for me.
“But it’s a bit like going to see someone you love who has dementia who keeps forgetting and then doesn’t remember what they’ve said.
“It doesn’t bother me anymore, but it was a lot, he hasn’t texted to apologise, I don’t know if he does emotion like that.”
Restaurant owner and cookbook supremo Jamie explained he doesn’t understand why Gordon, 50, made him the butt of his jokes.
He said: “I don’t think he can be jealous of me because no British chef has cracked American TV like Gordon has or smashed it on TV.
“He’s killing it, but we ’re different.
“I was doing TV years before him, so maybe five years ago it would have bothered me and I may have responded.
“But he’s got four kids and I’ve got five kids and I don’t want to be slagging off some kids’ dad on telly. It’s not nice.”
Jamie, who has been married to wife Jools for 17 years, also said: “I don’t think we’ll have more children.
“I would have the snip, but I’m frightened to get my b*****ks out and have it done.
“My friend had it done in Australia, and said, ‘Don’t do it mate, as I was going down they all started taking pictures. Your balls will be all over the f****** internet.’
“Another friend had it done and sent me a picture and they were huge and totally black.
“If a surgeon would come to my home and do it right then I’m in.”
Jamie admitted he struggles to find time to romance Jools alone.
He said: “We know we should have a date night, but we don’t because we’ve too many kids to look after.
“So rather than go out I just cook, and we have a cuddle on the sofa.”
