Hollywood rocked by gender pay gap row as just three women Emma Stone, Jennifer Lawrence and Jennifer Aniston among the 20 highest-paid stars
THE movie world has been rocked by a gender gap pay row — with only three women among its 20 highest-paid stars.
Hollywood superstar Mark Wahlberg, 46, is the world’s best-paid actor, raking in £53million in the past year.
Emma Stone, 28, made £20million, but as top woman she only came 15th in the annual rich list from US magazine Forbes.
Jennifer Aniston, 48, in 16th place with £20million, and Jennifer Lawrence, 27, in 17th on £19million, were the only other women on the list.
La La Land Oscar-winner Emma has previously condemned pay inequality.
Earlier this year she told how some male stars had agreed to pay cuts to match her salary.
Emma said: “That’s something they do for me because they feel it’s what’s right and fair.”
Wahlberg’s recent roles include Transformers: The Last Knight, disaster biopic Deepwater Horizon and the Boston Marathon bomb drama Patriots Day.

Industry experts put the pay gap down to a lack of opportunities for older female stars and the dominance of male-fronted action blockbusters.
