This Morning viewers shocked as blind woman claims she was left naked and alone in a forest for 28 days
Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford spoke to Lisa Theris about her ordeal in Alabama on today's show
THIS Morning viewers were left shocked and a little confused today after a blind woman claimed she had been left naked and alone in a forest for 28 days.
Hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford chatted to Lisa Theris via video link in Alabama about her ordeal.
The 25-year-old is registered blind, making her plight even more traumatic as she struggled to survive.
She said: "I can't remember exactly what led up to those points, what I do remember is waking up naked in the woods and not knowing how I got there.
"I believe that I was drugged and dropped off by people who I thought were my friends."
Lisa remained in the same place for the first few days, trying to work out if there was a house or road nearby, but there wasn't.
When Eamonn asked if she had any previous survival skills training, Lisa replied she did not, saying: "I had to figure it out for myself along the way, gather berries and stuff.
"I didn't have any survival skills learned already. I had to drink any kind of water I could find, little streams, puddles even if they were muddy.
"Of course I got sick off them but I did what I had to do to survive and get back to my family."

Discussing how she is legally blind, she added: "That was a big obstacle, I didn't have my glasses of course and I guess my contacts must have fell out before I woke up.
"Everything looked the same, I'm near sighted so I could see right in front of me but anything further I couldn't see at all."
Eamonn and Ruth then showed viewers pictures of Lisa's bitten, scratched and sunburned skin after she finally found a road and was helped by a passing motorist, 28 days after her ordeal began.
Lisa - who lost three stone while in the forest - she said: "I was in survival mode so I didn't feel the pain when I was out there, I didn't realise it until it was all over, that's when the pain sank in."
Of the moment she finally found the road, she added: "I saw that road, it was just amazing, you couldn't imagine the feeling I had.
"It really was a miracle."
Viewers couldn't believe what they were hearing, and some were confused why Lisa spoke so slowly and in a relatively monotone voice throughout.
One wrote on Twitter: "This girls voice is sending me to sleep" while another added: "Yes, she prob is on drugs. Give her a break. She looks shell shocked."
A third added: "She's probably on some sort of medication after going through all that. Her body was in a horrific state."
A fourth agreed, tweeting: "People are complaining about her tone in voice but if she sounded fine and was acting normal you would all think she's lying."
