Love Island’s Olivia Attwood reveals she gets ‘relentless’ abuse and DEATH THREATS on social media since appearing on the show

LOVE Island's Olivia Attwood was close to tears as she opened up on the "relentless" death threats that have plagued her life since leaving the Love Island villa.

The bubbly blonde, who is dating her former co-star Chris Hughes, became hugely emotional on the Victoria Derbyshire programme yesterday as she admitted she is bombarded with a "significant amount" of sick comments from online trolls on a daily basis.

Speaking of posts online during her time on the ITV2 show she revealed: "Unfortunately, a lot of the abuse was directed at my family because I was in the bubble of Love Island.

"Since I came out, a lot of it I couldn't repeat on breakfast television, it's pretty severe.

"It's death threats, it's people making personal comments."

Host Victoria pressed Olivia - who The Sun revealed had a huge bust up with boyfriend Chris at the weekend - as to how many such messages she had received.

The busty grid girl replied: "A significant amount, saying things like 'you should die.'"

Eager to know where the swell of angst against the model had come from, Victoria bluntly asked why people hated her so much.

Olivia, who sparked controversy with her erratic behaviour on the reality show, added: "There's not specific reasons, I think people that watch the show and people feel like they know you from watching a certain hour and then they want to express how they feel to you.

"Because they are hiding behind a keyboard its being able to get that really severe opinion across and believe there are no consequences."

Trying to round off the chat on a more positive note, Olivia said she was trying to stay upbeat and not let the harsh words affect her.

Meanwhile she was subject to abuse from former co-star Tyne-Lexy Clarson who this week accused Olivia of bullying her in the villa in a candid chat with

Yet the spat left Oliva's man far from impressed.

Chris posted the headline from the article in question on Twitter and wrote: "Bantering? I unfollowed you and you begged it. Stop accusing my girl of anything to stay relevant, grow up some years! 😴😴@tynelexyclarson"

Discussing her former Love Island pals, Tyne-Lexy said: "I speak to Amber, I WhatsApp Chloe, Gabby, obviously Chyna and that too.

"But when I came out, I got on with Chris and his family followed me from his account when he was still on the show, and then as soon as Olivia came out I was removed from everything Instagram, Twitter the lot, but I think it was Liv.

"I messaged him and said: ‘Are you OK?’, and it was seen and then ignored. Me and Olivia don't see eye to eye really."

After seeing Chris' tweet, Tyne-Lexy hit back and said: "Being nice isn't begging it,should try taking a leaf out of my book, now too prestige to even reply to a fellow contestant..."

Chris then replied: "Mate, you b***h on my girl, so why expect me to follow you? Don't ever call me prestige again, unless I turn into a car overnight."

Tyne-Lexy wouldn't back down however and quipped back: "Don't turn into a car mate ! She'll only use you as a free ride to her sidemans house..."

Chris then finished the row and tweeted: "I'll ask if she'll take you with her; show you what male attention looks like. Rumour has it you've been doing PA's for free as well #beggy. Done'ski. Gotta back your girl always. One day people will stop using others for attention, that's the simplistic reason behind this."

Meanwhile Chris confessed that he and best pal Kem Cetinay plotted to couple up to win the show and pocket the £50,000 prize money.

Viewers loved the pair's bromance and fans declared the boys were the "real winners" of the ITV2 reality show.

Speaking to The Sun Online at V Festival, Chris admitted they did think about pairing up in the villa.

He said: "We actually were considering coupling up at one stage which would have been funny.

"I don't think they would have let us though because it's called Love Island not Bromance Island but a lot of people have said they wanted us to win."

However, their friendship is now so iconic that they ended up landing their own spin-off TV show.

The Sun exclusively revealed that cameras would be following the duo as they adapt to life after the villa.
