TELLY’S Kirsty Gallacher split up with secret boyfriend Laurence Fox just weeks before her arrest for drink-driving, The Sun can reveal.
Sky Sports News presenter Kirsty, 41 — charged at the weekend — had been seeing the Lewis actor for six months.
The couple decided to “call it quits” after the strain of keeping their relationship secret took its toll, a source said last night.
The insider revealed: “The pair met through pals and hit it off.
“They had fun while it lasted.
“But having to sneak around was a bit tiresome in the end.”
Fox, 39, was wed to actress Billie Piper for eight years. He and the former Doctor Who star, 34, divorced in 2016.
Pals of Kirsty believe she let the relationship fizzle out because she still holds a torch for rugby bad boy Danny Cipriani, 29.
The ex-England fly-half dumped her in April last year after struggling with the 12-year age gap.
The source said: “She was mad for him.”
Kirsty, who lives in Surrey, is mum to two boys aged ten and seven. She and their dad Paul Sampson divorced in 2014.
Earlier this year she admitted she had a new boyfriend.
But she refused to name him, saying: “It’s early days. I’m enjoying seeing somebody, going on dates and having a great time.”
Kirsty was driving in Eton, Berks, on Saturday morning when cops breathalysed her.
She is due to appear at Slough magistrates’ court next month.
A source said: “She is incredibly upset. She spent several hours in police custody.
“She is now back at home but is still recovering from the shock.”
