EastEnders’ Steven Beale blackmailed into murder by Max Branning as his sick revenge scheme continues
Max forced his soon to be son-in-law into setting a fire to get rid of some tenants before revealing it was all part of his plan to get back at the Beales
STEVEN Beale may have just committed murder in EastEnders and Max Branning is going to ensure he goes down for it.
The increasingly unhinged restaurant manager - who is played by actor Aaron Sidwell in the BBC soap - was forced by his soon to be father-in-law Max into setting a fire to get rid of some tenants as part of Max's revenge scheme and it all went a bit wrong.
"Even if I do set this fire for you to get you off my back, I'll still going to have to tell her eventually aren't I?" Steven pointed out.
"You know, when I don't die."
With Max promising to find a way to fake Steven's medical records so it becomes a mistake and he can explain his fake illness, Steven agreed to set the fire and get rid of the tenants.
But it soon became clear that the fire had got out of hand and ambulances and fire engines were sent to the address, through the Square.
Max was left looking concerned about what he had caused with his latest revenge scheme.
Going outside, Max confronted Steven about what happened.
"Did they get out? The lads, did they get out?" he yelled at him as Steven admitted he didn't know.
"There's no we, slow down, there's no we, I was in the Queen Vic so I've got about 20 witnesses," Max told him.

"This is arson mate, could be murder, I ain't going inside again."
As Steven promised to take Max down with him if he was caught, Max's scheme became clear and it was obvious he had targeted the Beales as part of his revenge.
"You've got a little problem because it's Ian's car on the traffic cameras outside that flat... your name and address so all of this, all of this is down to you."
With actor Aaron Sidwell soon to be leaving the soap, could Steven be going down for murder?
