This Morning reveals first look at Emmerdale’s Leyla and Pete’s wedding – as actress Roxy Shahidi reveals doubts over marriage
In a sneak peek from the episode Leyla is forced to take a longer route to the church
THIS Morning has given Emmerdale fans a sneak peek at Leyla and Pete’s wedding which is due to air tomorrow evening.
In the exclusive clip Leyla, played by Roxy Shahidi, can be seen in her wedding outfit as she prepares to leave for the big day.
But just as she is about leave she’s told she needs to take the scenic route because the groom’s car hasn’t arrived yet.
Leyla then sees that Pete’s brother Ross is staring at her and she asks: “What? Do you think my feather is too much?”
He replies: “No I think you are knockout. Pete deserves some luck.”
After pretending to have lost the rings he heads off – leaving This Morning viewers desperate to know if Leyla actually makes it down the aisle.
Speaking on the show, Roxy revealed that her character has some serious doubts about her marriage.
She told Eamonn and Ruth: “She is madly in love with him; she has kind of forced the question. She kind of has her doubts.
“She feels guilty for doubting him and questioning him. Ultimately it is what she wants more than anything.”
Leyla is still unaware that Pete has been cheating on her with best friend Priya but actress Roxy says she thinks she’ll feel more betrayed by Priya than Pete.
She added: “That betrayal from Priya is much harder to forgive her than to forgive him.”
When pushed if she could say anything else about the episode, she said: “It is definitely exciting times. It was an amazing week of filming. We had to do some hilarious stuff and some very emotional stuff.”
Last week it was revealed that the couple both get a serious case of the wedding jitters on the big day.
Pete feels the only option is to tell the truth, while Leyla starts to have more doubts and confides in a guilt-ridden Priya.
Feeling jittery, Leyla then goes to check her make-up to delay her walk down the aisle.
Anthony Quinlan, who plays Pete said: “Pete thinks Leyla’s more than happy – until she doesn’t arrive at the altar on time.
"Then he begins to get last-minute nerves too.”
