Love Island’s Kady McDermott appears to confirm Scott Thomas split as she insists she did wish him Happy Birthday
The reality star wanted to make it clear she had wished him Happy Birthday despite their 'situation'
KADY McDermott has appeared to confirm she has split from Scott Thomas after insisting she did wish him Happy Birthday - just not online.
Posting a video on Snapchat about the birthday message situation, the Love Island star made a rather telling comment when she told fans that despite their 'situation' she still wished him well.
She ranted: "Regardless of my situation with Scott, I did wish him a happy birthday.
"Just because I haven't tweeted it or put in on Instagram, doesn't mean it hasn't happened. Remember guys, things do happen in real life not just social media.
"I have definitely said happy birthday to him, so you can all sleep at night. Ok guys? Rant over."
Earlier in the day fans had noticed that Kady had been very active online after her appearance on BBC Breakfast this morning but chose not to mention Scott’s birthday.
Scott meanwhile spent the day re-tweeting birthday messages from others, including Mike Thalassitis from this year’s Love Island, Rykard from last year’s show and also numerous fans – making Kady’s lack of message even more apparent.
Even Kady’s sister Kirsty wished him Happy Birthday, which again he retweeted - leavings fan confused about the state of their relationship.
Kady cleared up the situation in the video, adding that she had even got him gifts as well as cake for him and his twin brother.
She said: "I got two cakes made, one for Adam [Scott's twin] and one for Scott as you guys are all so concerned. Also got him some Yeezys, a card and a memory box and something else, so you can all relax now."
The star went on to ask for some privacy, while not mentioning her relationship with Scott.
"I love the fact that you guys care, whether you care or you guys are nosy, whatever it is, I understand that being in this industry the downfall is that you don't have any private life," she said.
"But if I'm not Snapchatting or Instagramming please respect that I might want something to be private. I just feel like I have to explain myself about everything and I'm just not in the mood at the moment, so please respect that."
It comes after it was revealed the couple have unfollowed each other on social media and Kady posted a cryptic message hinting at a split.
The 21-year-old wrote: "New chapter" on Twitter and fans were quick to comment asking if everything was OK in her relationship.
One wrote: "As long as you and Scott are together I'm fine", while another added: "Surely they've not split. They were still doing things together like 2 days ago from what I can see."
A third tweeted: "Hope you and Scott are OK x"
However the signs were not looking good for the couple, as both stars deleted all pictures of them together from their respective Instagram pages.
The potential split comes just weeks after Kady offered up relationship advice to the new batch of Love Island couples - including winners Kem Cetinay and Amber Davies.
She told The Sun's Bizarre column: "When we first came out, especially the first three months, we were living out of suitcases.
"We were doing PAs, travelling and obviously we were on our phones the whole time.
“It’s important just to make sure you do have an hour to yourselves, with your phone turned off.
"When we were on dates, if we went to Nando’s, we’d turn our phones off.
“Because if not we’d just forget to communicate and that’s what happened at first.”
