How old is Anne Robinson?

Anne Robinson is a journalist and TV presenter, known for hosting BBC game show The Weakest Link and co-presenting Watchdog.

The broadcaster was born On September 26, 1944, in Lancashire.

Anne kicked off her career in the media when she became the first ever female trainee for the Daily Mail and got the scoop on Beatles manager Brian Epstein's death by talking to the solicitor handling the details.

Anne went onto to work for the The Sunday Times and The Mirror and wrote a column for the latter entitled Wednesday Witch.

What TV work has Anne done?

Anne started out as a panellist on Question Time in the 1980s and presented TV review show Points Of View.

Then in 1993 she became the writer and presenter of consumer affairs show Watchdog.

But in 2000, Anne boosted her career massively when she began presenting tough quiz show The Weakest Link, which was on TV for ten years.

Because she had to say it at the end of every round, Anne's catchphrase soon became "You are the weakest link, goodbye", and she would often say it in amusing ways to change it up.

She also winked at the camera the end of every episode.

The show was such a hit that it spawned 70 equivalent versions in other countries, and was even parodied in a Doctor Who episode.

Anne also had a stint hosting Channel 4's Countdown from 2021 to 2022.

Over the years, Anne has accumulated an incredible fortune.

The TV star has an estimated net worth of around £35M.

Speaking to Event magazine in 2015, she revealed how she doesn't like to talk about her wealth, and said: "You'll discuss your sex life, your mother's dementia, your operations and whatever else at a dinner party, but people won't talk about money.

"I just buy what I want. Genuinely.

"I buy at Dover Street, Yves Saint Laurent, Bottega Veneta, Marni… a lot of them are very expensive but I use them and get enormous pleasure out of them."

Is Anne Robinson married and does she have children?

Anne has been married twice in her life, and has one child.

Her first husband was to her Daily Mail deputy news editor Chris Wilson.

They wed in 1968, before divorcing in 1973.

Together they had a daughter called Emma, who was born in 1971.

Anne was then married to her second husband, author Joe Penrose, from 1980 to 2007.

Then in December 2023, it was revealed the TV star was dating Queen Camilla's ex-husband, Andrew Parker-Bowles.

The Sun broke the news that the pair had been dating since late 2022.

Andrew’s ex-wife Queen Camilla is said to support his relationship with acid-tongued Anne — who dispatched quiz contestants with the phrase: “You are the weakest link, goodbye.”

A friend of the pair, told us: “They have judiciously avoided being photographed together as they both wanted to keep this quiet for as long as possible.

“Annie proudly tells everyone she is the daughter of a market trader chicken-seller and is as far removed from a toff as could be — frankly it beats any storyline The Crown could possibly come up with.

“Annie and Andrew get on splendidly — she makes him laugh, a lot, and he is one of the few people to get away with poking fun at her."
