Love Island’s Montana Brown puts a brave face on as she finally confirms her split from co-star Alex Beattie
LOVE Island's Montana Brown has finally confirmed her split from hunky model Alex Beattie.
The stunning student took to Twitter to share the news with her fans in a short post.
Her message read: "Alex and I have decided to split.
"Making our relationship work on the outside has been hard. He hasn't been the same since coming out of the villa."
She concluded: "Despite this we are still close and I will always support him."
While Alex wrote his own statement which read: "Me and Montana met yesterday and have decided that it's best to call it a day with relationship with each other.
"It's been very hard on the outside to make us work how we desired. I still have strong feelings towards her and will be remaining close friends and supporting her throughout everything."
The former couple have only seen each other once since the reunion show, where Montana was seen leaving London nightclub Libertine with co-star Simon Searles.
The Sun revealed the pair, fifth in this year’s series, secretly ended their romance before the ITV2 reunion show held in London but they attempted to put on a united front for the cameras.
The reality star hinted at their separation last week telling The Sun: “We are doing our thing at the moment.
"I don’t know if we will have time or be able to do any joint shoots in the future.”

Fans were devastated by Montana's confirmation of the split as one wrote: "So sad to hear this Mon. I thought he seemed different as well when you both came out. Just hope you're happy and keep doing you!"
Montana replied: "Thanks so much"
Another fan wrote: "'He's not the same'... went from 'quiet guy' to 'PA party lad' in two weeks! Don't worry girl, the best is yet to come."
However some fans questioned the legitimacy of the entire relationship as one wrote: "Well you did only go in for fame didn't you?"
Another quipped: "You both faked it just admit it."
Montana's statement comes after The Sun revealed pals close to Alex claim Montana was playing a game in the villa.
The insiders claimed the duo called it quits after Montana refused to share a photo of her and Alex on Instagram to prove her affections were genuine.
