CORONATION Street’s dramatic kidnapping storyline came to head this evening as it was revealed Michelle Connor’s ex-boyfriend Will was the man behind her horrifying experience.
The restaurant manager - who is played by actress Kym Marsh in the ITV soap - has been suffering from a horrific stalking ordeal but it took a dark turn as she woke up bound and gagged in a parked car.
But as Michelle's torment continues tonight, those watching at home discovered her ex boyfriend Will had in fact kidnapped her as he was spotted chucking away her very distinguishable car keys.
During Monday evening's episode viewers watched as Kym’s character wept and screamed while bound and gagged in her parked car.
Fortunately she is heard and is rescued by police, who reunite her with her worried boyfriend Robert.
Weeping as she chatted to a police woman, she tried to recall the night, saying: "We had a row and then I dropped my friend s off in town and I went to a bar. I didn’t go to our local because we know everyone in there. I went to bar 103 in town.
"I just had one drink. I remember feeling like it went straight to my head. I think I remember leaving and then nothing. Nothing until I woke up in the car."
The police officer then asked if she remembered seeing anyone but she struggled to recall anyone but the bar man.
Breaking down, she said: "Just Josh one of the bar staff and... oh god I don’t think I have been raped."
At that point Robert shouted at the copper: "Why don’t you just ask her who done this? It’s rich. But you let him go and now he has done this."
Michelle then described her car keys to the police woman - revealing they had a big M on them, which later proves to be a key bit evidence.
The officer then suggested she had an examination to see if she had been raped, but she was reluctant, saying: "I don’t think I want this examination. I’d know, wouldn’t I? If he’d… he could have couldn't he?"
The police then revealed they had picked up Rich for questioning but he had an alibi.
After finally agreeing to the test, Michelle and Robert return home - where Maria and Will pay them a visit.
Looking very suspicious, Will asked Robert: "Is it definitely that Rich bloke? You must want to kill him."
Robert then goes off to confront Rich, despite the fact he has alibi and proceeded to beat him up, telling him: "If you ever touch him again the police will be looking for you in the canal."
The police later arrive to arrest Robert for beating up Rich – leaving Michelle once again in hysterical tears.
Maria then called Will to tell him what had happened and after he put down the phone, he could be seen chucking Michelle’s keys down the drain - proving it was actually him who kidnapped Michelle.
During last Friday’s show Michelle and Robert had been on a double date with Maria Connor and Michelle's ex Will, who recently returned to Weatherfield.
Unfortunately for Michelle, a fight with Robert makes him think Michelle has left him.
Viewers then saw her walking up in the boot, terrified and unable to escape.
Her last moments before being kidnapped saw her having a drink in the bar while somebody looked on.
It marked the latest and most extreme in a wave of attacks on her and partner Robert Preston's (Tristan Gemmill) relationship, which have recently included threatening messages and an arson attempt on their bistro with a Molotov cocktail.
