Sam Bailey slams Love Island after the show’s perfect bodies made her 12 YEAR OLD daughter ‘want to go on a diet’
X FACTOR winner and concerned mum Sam Bailey has sensationally revealed her 12-year-old daughter told her she wanted to go on a DIET after watching the toned model contestants on Love Island.
The singer, 40, told today's Lorraine show she was initially reluctant to allow eldest Brooke Pearson to watch the raunchy ITV2 reality show.
Yet after the schoolgirl finally won her around Sam confessed she too had become addicted to the sun-soaked antics in the Spanish bungalow - but wished there had have been "plumper" contestants to present a variety of body images.
The mum of three, who will soon star in Fat Friends the musical, told presenter Christine Bleakley: "It would be nice to see some more plumper ladies in things like that.
"Love Island is great - everyone in it is stunning and beautiful and thin - but the reason I'm starring in Fat Friends is to let everyone know it's OK to be the size that you are.
"It's OK to be real.
"But then Love Island - my daughter is like 'Oh I've got a bit of fat, I need to go on a diet.
"She's 12 and it really frustrates me."
Yet Sam, who found fame after winning Simon Cowell's singing show back in 2013, added her daughter had come to realise the difference between TV body goals.
She added: "But she gets it now. She knows she's still growing and is going to be beautiful when she's older regardless."

Popstar Sam isn't the only one to criticise the racy reality show for its body image portrayal.
Lead host Caroline Flack, 37, has admitted it can portray an "unrealistic body image" for young girls as it features incredibly attractive people coupling up.
When asked about criticism that the show is portraying an unrealistic body image for girls, Caroline told : “I guess it is, really, isn’t it?”
She added: “I have nothing to do with the casting, so I can’t say why they pick certain people, but the type of people who apply are already quite body-confident, I guess.
While Love Island is without a doubt the most-talked about show of the summer, many have questioned the show’s casting – which features a series of stunning women with model figures.
The topic has been widely discussed on Twitter, with one user writing: “It's no wonder that our young adults have body image problems when broadcasters like @itv2 put stuff like #LoveIsland on the TV.”
While another asked: “Is it any wonder girls and boys have body image issues #LoveIsland.”
And someone else questioned: “Love shows like love island but when are we going to see normal girls on it instead of absolutely stunning girls with unrealistic body image.”
