CBB house mocked as viewers accuse bosses of trying to make it look like the Love Island villa
CELEBRITY Big Brother viewers have been pointing out similarities between this year's house and the Love Island villa.
The new series of CBB kicked off on Tuesday night, just over a week after Love Island - one of the most watched TV shows of the summer - finished.
And some fans couldn't help taking to Twitter during last night's CBB launch show to question whether bosses had been influenced by Love Island when it came to their designs for the new CBB house.
This year's CBB housemates have a pretty pool to swim in and a cosy outdoor smoking area, decorated with fairy lights and decking.
Over in Majorca, Love Island's contestants also had their own pool, decked smoking area and lights strung around the garden.
CBB's housemates have a panoramic leafy country backdrop to gaze at on the garden walls, while the islanders had the real thing.
One viewer tweeted: "CBB house/garden soooo looks like Love Island villa. Is this a coincidence? Think not!!!"
Another said: "Wonder if BBUK will go full out Love Island style house makeover next year as there is hints of it in this house."
A third added: "The CBB garden channelling serious Love Island vibes."
While some fans have pointed out similarities between the two houses' garden areas, others have joked they are just thankful CBB has arrived to fill the Love Island void.
Love Island ended last Monday night with Kem Cetinay and Amber Davies winning the £50,000.
Viewers had taken to Twitter in droves to joke about how Love Island had taken up their entire social life for the past two months and they didn't know what to do with themselves now.
But now that CBB has kicked off, many are happy for another distraction.
In an exclusive interview with The Sun's Bizarre TV column, Celebrity Big Brother host Emma Willis said there was no rivalry between CBB and Love Island.
"I don’t think there is any rivalry between the two shows, they are completely different," she said.
"They can both exist alongside each other.
“Love Island is about couples looking for romance and Big Brother is about a group of people being taken out of their comfort zones, from different walks of life, and seeing how they cope living with each other.”
