But today - during an appearance on Lorraine - Gabby proved her feelings for Marcel are real as she took the test for the second time.

Conducted by Dan Wootton, with the same machine used on Love Island, Gabby was asked whether she could see wedding bells in the future.

A nervous-looking Gabby replied "yes" and this time, rather than being left red faced, she and Marcel were delighted to learn that she was telling the truth.

Marcel was also asked the same question, and said yes - he too was telling the truth.

Gabby was also quizzed about whether she was fan of Blazin' Squad - she said no but Dan revealed she was in fact lying.

Speaking to Christine Lampard prior to taking the test Gabby revealed how stressful it was doing the test for the first time.

She said: "I think no one ever knows how intense it is in there and to have to answer those questions, to be put in the spotlight was so hard. It’s bonded us though ."

And speaking about life away from the show, she said: "I am loving it. We can enjoy each others company without having to be on camera. It’s refreshing."

Marcel added:  "We are trying to make normal life a bit more normal. We are talking about moving in together and doing all the things that couples do."

Gabby also addressed the fact she has been a victim of racist abuse, saying: "I just couldn't believe in this day and age that I would ever have that when I came out. So to have to deal with that feels like a personal attack."

She went on to say that she decided to out the culprits on Twitter, adding: "I think it’s just because we don’t hear about it so much, it is hidden but everyone should know about it."

During their time on Love Island Gabby’s feeling’s for Marcel were questioned when she failed the infamous lie detector test, in what was on the most heartbreaking episodes of the series.

Gabby and her fellow female contestants were put under the spotlight when their partners were allowed to ask them a string of questions whilst the girls were hooked up to a lie detector machine.

But when Marcel asked her if she loved him, she replied no and the lie detector machine confirmed she was telling the truth.

Marcel, who had said he was in love with her, was left devastated, while Gabby was mortified by the results.

Following the results Gabby told Marcel that she couldn't have told him she loved him when he had said it to her the week before as she wanted to tell him when it felt it was the right time.

And then in a big gesture, she told him to look out on to the grass below where her fellow Islanders had spelled out 'I [heart] U'.

The move was however branded 'fake' and 'calculated' by those watching at home.

Since leaving the villa in fourth place the couple’s romance is still being debated, following their appearance on the reunion show.

Fans took to social media during Sunday’s reunion show to describe the pair as “fake” and “cringe”, and accused them of being “awkward” on camera.

They visited Gabby’s hometown of Liverpool in a pre-recorded segment before sitting down with Caroline Flack in the studio, where they confirmed they have had sex since leaving the villa, after making a pact not to do the deed on TV.

But not all viewers felt the couple were being genuine and some even wondered if the pair had rowed before the show, suggesting their body language showed tension.

Gabby defended their relationship, telling the Daily Star: "When I came out, I was like, ‘What have people been seeing?’ You don’t know how you are being edited.

“But we are strong and we are going to be together.

“I could have chosen to go with someone else who came in the villa but at no point did I want to jeopardise what I have with Marcel.”
