Celebrity Big Brother fail as Shaun Williamson’s earpiece fails and he struggles to hear secret task instructions

CELEBRITY Big Brother’s first task was almost ruined by a technical glitch in the closing moments of the first episode.

EastEnders legend Shaun Williamson was unable to hear what Big Brother was asking him to do, leaving Emma Willis floundering on stage. 

Shaun, who played Barry in the BBC soap, was the first celebrity into the house and was immediately given a task.

He was told he had to be the most nervous celebrity, and started off working for Big Brother as soon as the other celebrities joined him.

Shaun managed to get Sarah Harding to sing along with him and even persuaded Brandi Glanville to pour water over him.

However when it came to the final task, Shaun couldn’t hear – despite Big Brother asking him repeatedly to respond.

Ever the professional Emma went to a break and jokingly scolded Shaun for not listening.

But when the show came back on , the actor was still struggling to understand what was happening and had to walk away to fiddle with his ear-piece.

As Big Brother told him to make a fellow contestant his rock, Shaun said: “What? Make someone my what?”

Eventually Shaun managed to catch what they were saying and went back into the group, with Emma apologising for the glitch.

Shaun then chose Sandi Bogle to be his rock and managed to persuade her he was completely freaked out by being in the house.
