CBB bosses draft in Apprentice loser Karthik Nagesan to fill the Real Housewives of Cheshire star’s spot
APPRENTICE reject Karthik Nagesan is replacing Dawn Ward on Celebrity Big Brother ahead of tonight's launch.
Bosses had scrambled to find a suitable replacement after the Real Housewives of Cheshire star pulled out at the last minute.
And now, it's been revealed Karthik is the lucky star who gets to take her place.
The cocky businessman, who appeared on last year’s show with Lord Alan Sugar, will be appearing on tonight’s show alongside Jemma Lucy, Sarah Harding and Paul Danan.
“He’s a real character and will really shake things up,” says an insider. “He says what he thinks and will be a real asset to the house.”
Karthik upset the other candidates on last year’s Apprentice with his pushy attitude, and when he was fired for getting one of the worst results in a task ever – selling just £188 compared to a rival’s £40k.
But he remained a firm fan favourite because of his bushy monobrow and confident attitude.
When he got fired, he told the show that “ratings would go down” and later declared that he’d “make more than the £250k that Lord Sugar would give me” by selling products with his catchphrases on.
He also claimed that he’d be a billionaire soon – and then become Prime Minister.
“I think I’d be a good Prime Minister,” Karthik said.
“On the way to being a billionaire – which hopefully I can do one day, if I can launch the next Facebook or the next WhatsApp or the next Google, hopefully my dreams will benefit the world and make me a rich guy. Then I will work on the system from the outside. And then once I’m there and I’ve achieved what I want from life, I can get into politics and work on the system from the inside!”
Being on Celebrity Big Brother, of course, is the traditional path to getting into politics. The house is just one step away from 10 Downing Street.
As well as appearing on the business show, Karthik has also been a panellist on Big Brother's Bit On The Side.
As The Sun Online reported yesterday, Real Housewives star Dawn Ward got nervous about appearing on the show and pulled out.
“Dawn has decided not to take part in the show at the very last minute,” said a source.
“She may have done reality TV in the past but she got cold feet about doing CBB. The show’s bosses are desperately trying to find someone to fill her boots – which will be a hard task considering she’s such a character.”
