He shared the snap on Instagram and followers flooded the page with comments about his looks.

Some even suggested Gordon may have undergone cosmetic surgery  as he looked so different.

The TV veteran was also targeted by cruel trolls who mocked his appearance.

One wrote: "You have more plastic surgery then mick Jagger's lips especially that forehead my god."

Another added: "For f**k sake, slow down with the gravy.. you look swollen up..."

A third wrote: "Your hair look raw Gordon! What happened, no hair wax?"

Gordon wore a blue T-shirt and grey jeans for his appearance at the glitzy event in Anaheim last night.

It comes just weeks after the star was caught up in a row over air travel as it was revealed he makes his children fly economy while he sits up in first class.

The celebrity chef later defended his decision and admitted he refused to splash out on expensive tickets for his children Matilda, 15, Jack and Holly, 17, and Megan, 18.

Gordon told : I have got to keep it real with the kids, and also I think just getting kids at the age of five, six and seven, used to first class and those big seats, they do not need the space, they get entertainment on their iPads.

“So I like to think about what you can do with the money when you land, rather than paying out thousands of dollars for eight, nine ten-year-olds to sit in First Class.”

“I do not want them sat there with a 10 course f*****g menu with champagne.”

Gordon’s decision is supported by his wife Tana and he insisted it’s how they “keep it real” for the four youngsters.

The chef, who is reported to be worth £113million, caused controversy earlier this year when he said he wouldn't be leaving his children any money in his will.

He told : “It's definitely not going to them, and that's not in a mean way; it's to not spoil them," he said.

“The only thing I've agreed with Tana is that they get a 25 per cent deposit on a flat, but not the whole flat.

He added: “I've never been really turned on about the money. That's not my number one objective and that's reflected in the way the kids are brought up.”
