Love Island’s Camilla Thurlow’s bid to become the new ‘Ross Kemp’ as she plans to use fame to travel to war zones to make documentaries and shun nightclub appearances
LOVE Island’s Camilla Thurlow says she’d rather be the “next Ross Kemp” and travel to warzones than flog products online and make nightclub appearances.
Fresh off the plane from Mallorca, the 28-year-old told The Sun Online that she would rather use her newfound celebrity status to draw attention to important issues.
She said: “Certainly I would want to use any kind of platform to draw attention to various issues that are important to me, I’ve spoken to a couple of people today about arranging trips in the near future so that would be the direction I would want to go.
“I have a friend who works out in Greece, she runs a charity out there, so I would probably go and join them for a bit and there’s a couple of other places that I’m thinking of going to."
When asked if she would like to be the next Ross Kemp and make programmes like Extreme World, Camilla revealed that both she and boyfriend Jamie Jewitt have discussed that.
She said: “I would literally love to do that.
“Very interestingly, Jamie mentioned that on our second date as something we should do.”
Jamie added: “It would be a dream job.”
MORE FROM LOVE ISLAND
Camilla insisted that she would not be following the usual path of other reality stars such as personal appearances and selling products like protein shakes online.
“I definitely don’t want to be a celebrity. I won’t be making any club appearances.
“Of course I will join the rest of the islanders at events and be a part of group projects but for my personal goals I will be going in a slightly different direction.”
