Love Island’s Chris and Kem ‘to go head-to-head with Marcel’s Blazin’ Squad for Christmas No1’

LOVE Island’s Chris Hughes laid down the gauntlet yesterday when he declared that he and Kem would beat Marcel and Blazin’ Squad in a Christmas number one battle.

As Chris and Kem set their sights on a rap career and with the nation desperate for more music from Blazin’ Squad, The Sun Online asked if they will be battling it out for the coveted Christmas chart spot.

Chris’s girlfriend Olivia Attwood fully supported the idea declaring: “That’s the dream.”

While confident Chris said: “Me and Kem will win it.”

However, even if Kem and Chris do win, Marcel wouldn’t care, telling The Sun Online: “Well I’d produce both [theirs and Blazin' Squad's], so for me it’s money both ways!”

It could be a tight competition as rapper Stormzy is fan of Chris and according to the Islander a collaboration will be happening very soon.

Chris said: “The Stormzy collaboration will happen, 100 percent.

“Honestly there is no 'hope' there as I know it will happen, it’s just a matter of what kind of tune will we do.”

And his ambitions don’t end at Stormzy…

“We could do a Little Bit Leave It remix, but me, Marce and Kem are gonna do like our own EP and release that October / November time,  and it’s gonna have some big artists - and I actually mean big artists.”

Meanwhile Marcel added that he spoke to his Blazin’ Squad bandmates about reforming as soon as he landed in the UK yesterday.

He said: “You know what I was talking to the boys about [reforming] at the airport.

“They were like, ‘Marce, there’s a lot of stuff going down, things being said, a lot of offers on the table, but obviously we needed to wait for you to come back before we could agree to anything.’

“So I’ve been waiting for a charger so I can call my agent about it.”

Marcel also weighed in on Kem and Marcel’s musical ambitions, before dropping a huge bombshell about Kem’s apparently self-penned Little Bit Leave It.

“These boys have got so hyped off the whole situation.

“To tell you the truth I did actually write the lyrics for Kem’s song.”

Now that’s the biggest scandal of the series.
