Dancing On Ice full line-up revealed as Katie Price, Candice Brown and Saira Khan take to the ice for comeback series of hit ITV show
DANCING on Ice is set to return to ITV in January 2018 after a three year break, and The Sun Online can exclusively reveal that the show has an all-star cast of celebrities lined up to take to the rink.
The stars – some of who are already training with the show’s coaches – have been auditioned by producers and handpicked to appear on the primetime show.
Jayne Torvill – who confirmed the show’s return, saying: “I love that it’s coming back, it’s great news – I’m really looking forward to it” – and Christopher Dean are rumoured to be swapping their coach positions for jobs on the judging panel. Expected to join them are the show’s legendary ‘Mr Nasty’ Jason Gardiner and Karen Barber.
And changes to the format are in the pipeline too, with Jayne adding: “The show will definitely be refreshed but the basics will be the same, we will still be teaching celebrities how to skate.”
From soap stars to Olympians to reality veterans, there are some big names in there – and we can’t wait to see how good (or bad) they are at skating.
Katie Price
The Loose Women panellist and star of Katie Price: My Crazy Life is a reality TV expert – having appeared on several series of her own, twice on Celebrity Big Brother and twice on I’m A Celebrity. But while we know she loves a revealing lycra outfit covered in sequins, can she dance on a slippery surface in time to music? We’ll have to wait and see.
Ebony Rainford-Brent
Part of the 2009 World Cup winning women’s cricket team, Ebony was also the first black woman to play for England. Now retired from the sport, she works as a pundit – she was one of the first women pundits to commentate on international men’s cricket - podcaster and Director for Surrey Women's Cricket.
Sally Morgan
Psychic Sally is had her first psychic experience at nine months old, and saw her first ghost at age four, so probably knows whether or not she’s set to win Dancing On Ice already. ‘Britain’s Best Loved Psychic’ has written several books and toured the country with her show – contacting spirits and doing readings for members of the public and adoring fans.
Amber Hill
Olympic sport shooter Amber is just 20 years old, but has already competed in the Rio Olympics, and narrowly missed out on a place in the finals of the Women’s skeet shooting last summer. She’s currently training for the Tokyo Olympics, and dates dirt bike rider James Rutter.
Candice Brown
The Sunday Times Magazine baking columnist worked as a PE teacher before winning last year’s Great British Bake Off – so we know she’s athletically inclined. She’s recently had to deny rumours she’s engaged to long term boyfriend Liam Macaulay after being spotted with a ring on THAT finger, and has recently released her first cookbook, Comfort.
Saira Khan
Loose Women panellist Saira Khan is no reality TV virgin, having shot to fame when she was a runner-up on The Apprentice in 2005. Since then she’s appeared on Celebrity Big Brother, hosted Guess This House and competed on The Chase. Saira’s not shy when it comes to confessing everything from her sex life with husband Steven Hyde to wetting herself live on TV, but will she be able to dance the Bolero?
Katie McGlynn
Former Waterloo Road star Katie joined Coronation Street as Sinead Tinker earlier this year, and recently announced she was pregnant … only to reveal it was all a joke with her best friend. The actress credited co-star Catherine Tyldesley for helping her lost two stone through boxing, so she’s in shape for those sequins.
Alex Gerrard
Footballers wife Alex – yes, her husband is Liverpool legend Steven – gave birth to the couple’s fourth baby earlier this year, and recently showed off her incredible post-baby body on the beach while on holiday with her family.
Max Evans
Former Scotland international player Max is brother to Kelly Brook’s ex Thom, and while we know he’s got the body for those tight lycra outfits on the show (he’s always stripping off on social media), has he got the skills? In January, Max split from his American model wife, Katy Johnson, after just two years together, with friends blaming the distance between his old rugby club in France and her home in the US.
Toby Anstis
The children’s TV presenter – older readers will remember him from the Broom Cupboard – is now a Heart Radio DJ, where he hosts the morning show. He’s had a string of famous girlfriends – from Priscilla Presley to The Apprentice’s Stella English – and was voted off I’m A Celebrity first in 2006. Let’s hope he lasts a bit longer on the ice.
Paul Burrell
Princess Diana’s famous “rock” – and her butler – Paul is a reality show expert, having lent his services to I’m a Celebrity, Celebrity Stars In Their Eyes, Trust Me, I’m A Holiday Rep and Celebrity Big Brother. He married partner Graham Cooper earlier this year.
Antony Cotton
A Coronation Street legend, Antony has played Sean Tully on the show since 2003, and has appeared on everything from Soapstar to Superstar to I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here. Married to Peter Eccleston since 2012, he’s also a big charity campaigner – even climbing Ben Nevis for charity this weekend.
Stephen Bailey
Rising comedy star Stephen was named one of this year’s Eligible Bachelors by Attitude magazine earlier this year, and has taken his acerbic wit to Big Brother’s Bit On The Side and Love Island voiceover man Iain Stirling’s new show Celebabililty.
Olly Smith
This Morning wine expert Olly is a surprise contender to appear on Dancing On Ice, but is a firm favourite with Saturday Kitchen viewers for his endless enthusiasm about all things alcoholic. The author (he’s written three books about … you guessed it, wine) is also a voiceover artist, narrating TV documentaries. Let’s hope he takes to the ice sober, otherwise accidents could happen.
