CHRIS Evans is back on Virgin Radio, where he hosts a weekday breakfast show.

The DJ left his flagship Radio 2 Breakfast Show in December 2018 after over 10 years and has now returned to his "spiritual home".

How old is Chris Evans? What's his background?

Chris Evans, 52, was born on April 1, 1966, and is an English presenter, businessman and producer for radio and television.

He started his broadcasting career working for Piccadilly Radio in Manchester, as a teenager, before heading down to London as a presenter for the BBC's Greater London Radio and then Channel 4 television, where The Big Breakfast made him a TV star in 1992.

He then went on to host shows including Don't Forget Your Toothbrush and TFI Friday.

After this, he moved back to radio to host the Radio 1 Breakfast Show, before moving to Virgin Radio.

By 2000 Chris had amassed a fortune of £80million thanks to his company Ginger Productions.

Chris Evans' Car-Fest will be taking place over two weekends this summer.

The first in the 'North' will take place in Bolesworth, Cheshire THIS WEEKEND (July 26-28, 2019.)

While the second in the 'South' will happen over the weekend of 23-25 August this year.

The event will happen over the Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Laverstoke Park Farm in Hampshire.

When did Chris Evans return to Virgin Radio and why did he quit Radio 2?

Chris returned to Virgin Radio on January 21, 2019, where he previously hosted the breakfast show between 1997 and 2001.

His show will run weekdays from 6.30am to 10am.

On September 3, 2018, Chris announced on his Radio 2 Breakfast Show that he would be leaving the station.

The broadcaster took over from Sir Terry Wogan in 2010, and regularly attracted nine million listeners - more than any other breakfast show in the UK.

His final show was on Friday, December 21, 2018, but he bowed out with a Christmas Eve special.

Virgin Radio UK is a national radio station owned by Wireless, which was acquired by News UK, owner of The Sun, in 2016.

The station originally launched in 1993 and was rebranded as Absolute Radio (now owned by Bauer Media) in 2008.

The first show of the new look station was broadcast at 11am on March 30, 2016, from a Virgin Train by Edith Bowman and Matt Richardson.
