Who was Aaron Carter?

Aaron Carter, 34, was a pop star from Tampa, Florida who rose to fame in the late 90s.

His older brother is Nick Carter, one fifth of the Backstreet Boys.

The singer had a twin sister called Angel.

Aaron's other sister Leslie died in 2012 from a drug overdose aged 25, and their sister Bobbie Jean passed away a year after him in 2023.

During his teens Aaron opened shows for the Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears and was aged nine when he signed his first record deal.

Between 1997 and 2002 he released four albums, including Aaron's Party (Come Get It) in 2000 and Another Earthquake in 2002.

In 2018 he released LØVË, his first album in 16 years.

In 2009 Aaron took part in Dancing with the Stars.

He's also appeared on his brother's reality show I Heart Nick Carter, as well as Sabrina The Teenage Witch and Lizzie McGuire.

Aaron and his four siblings also starred in a much-parodied reality show called House of Carters.

In 2024, Aaron and his brother Nick were the focus of a docuseries called Fallen Idols.

Why did Nick Carter get a restraining order against Aaron?

In September 2019, Nick was granted a restraining order against his brother Aaron after he allegedly threatened to kill his pregnant wife Lauren Kitt.

However, Aaron hit back at the claims by tweeting he was “astounded” by the accusations.

He said: "I do not wish harm to anyone, especially my family."

In a statement released online, Nick confirmed he had acquired the order against his younger brother.

He wrote: “In light of Aaron's increasingly alarming behavior and his recent confession that he harbors thoughts and intentions of killing my pregnant wife and unborn child, we were left with no choice but to take every measure possible to protect ourselves and our family.”

When was Aaron Carter previously arrested?

Prosecutors filed multiple charges against Aaron after he was arrested for a DUI arrest in July 2017.

He was caught driving under the influence with then-girlfriend Madison Parker.

The incident occurred after he'd spent two months in rehab.

Aaron agreed to plead no contest to reckless driving and was placed on probation and, among other conditions, was ordered to perform community service and pay $1,500 in court fees and fines.

When did Aaron Carter pass away?

On November 5, 2022, .

He was 34 at the time of his death and survived by his son, Prince.

A spokesperson said: "Aaron worked very hard towards the end of his life in recovery, to be a good father and to make amends with his family.

"Unfortunately without proper recovery facilities available in our country and open borders, this is why we have an epidemic."

What were Aaron Carter's biggest hits?

As a teen star, Aaron famously released a cover of 1965 pop track I Want Candy, taken from his second album Aaron's Party (Come And Get It).

In the following five years, he became known for tracks including I'm All About You, That's How I Beat Shaq (about basketball star Shaquille O'Neal) and Leave It Up To Me.

However, his most famous track from his teenage years is probably Crush On You.

His 2018 album included the hit singles Fools Gold and Sooner or Later.
