Davina McCall’s The Million Pound Drop becomes the £100k drop as prime-time gameshow returns at tea-time

Sixty new episodes, in which contestants will play to win £100k, will air on Channel 4 next year.

Davina McCall will continue to be the show’s host. Channel 4 has ordered 60 hour-long episodes for next year.

The old C4 show which ran for 12 series was broadcast at 9pm and had audiences as high as three million.

Davina, 49, said: “I love hosting this show. I couldn’t be more thrilled that we are back and coming to daytime.”

Contestants begin with £100,000 and answer a string of questions to keep as much of it as possible.

They put bundles of notes on to trapdoors linked to answers.

Cash placed on wrong ans-wers “drops” out of the game.

Davina added: “£100,000 is a life-changing amount of cash and I’m crossing my fingers for some big money wins.”
