Love Island couple Kady McDermott and Scott Thomas fear they’re next after she reveals how Emmerdale’s Adam Thomas was burgled
Emmerdale's Adam Thomas had left his car keys on the side near his door making it easier for burglars to swipe his car
EMMERDALE’S Adam Thomas tempted fate before he was burgled by leaving his keys on display near his front door, his close friends and family have revealed.
The actor’s car was swiped overnight on Tuesday whilst he slept in his Manchester home.
He told his Twitter followers about the news and warned them not to make it easy for the “t****”.
But brother Scott’s girlfriend Kady McDermott, 21, revealed he had placed his car keys on top of a set of drawers rather than putting them inside – tempting fate.
She told the Sun’s Bizarre column it was a sign that he was going to get burgled.
Scott, 28, and Kady, who met on last year's Love Island, now fear they may be targeted next as they live close by.
He joked he would now be double locking every door and could even install a panic room.
And Kady says it this is not the first time people in their area have been burgled by yobs.
Speaking at the in to Boots UK launch, she said: “Both our houses have drawers when you first go in. We always put our keys in the drawer because they say never leave your keys on the side.
“That night he put it on the side instead of in the drawer. It’s like a sign, it’s like he knew it was going to happen.
“It was when he was asleep and his car got nicked.
“It’s really scary. Where we live just down the road from him.
“We have gates and you need a buzzer to get in and someone nicked a buzzer, so people have been going into cars.
“They haven’t been going into mine and Scott’s but our neighbour’s car was broken into and we’re like 'me and Scott are next'.”
Yesterday Adam, 28, uploaded a jesting picture to Instagram, of some weapons including a wooden spoon and golf club telling fans: “Protect yourselves at all times.”
He recently confirmed he was leaving ITV soap Emmerdale after eight years.
