Corrie’s Katie McGlynn is the latest star in Dancing on Ice bosses’ sights to boost comeback series
DANCING On Ice bosses are on the hunt for talent for the comeback season – and Corrie’s KATIE McGLYNN is the latest name in their sights.
Weatherfield’s Sinead Tinker, snapped on holiday in Majorca this week, is understood to be very keen.
A source said: “Katie loves the idea of trying something new so Dancing On Ice is a perfect opportunity.
“She’s well-liked, popular with viewers and exactly the sort of person they’ve been looking for.”
The new series, the first in three years, is not likely to begin until January.
But producers need to get a line-up sorted because of the intensive training needed to get stars ready to compete.
They are expected to trial up to 50 potential contestants, as many won’t make the cut.
A source added: “There’s no point in hiring famous faces for them to end up totally unable to skate.”
Katie’s Coronation Street co-star BROOKE VINCENT is also understood to have been on bosses’ radar, along with model ALEX GERRARD, reality stalwart KATIE PRICE and singer MICHELLE HEATON.
Ice dancers JAYNE TORVILL and CHRISTOPHER DEAN will also be back, but instead of mentoring the stars they are expected to act as judges.
The show’s former Mr Nasty, JASON GARDINER, is also rumoured to be set to return.
It wouldn’t be the same without him.

CARRIE FISHER gets a posthumous nod for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series, for her guest turn on Channel 4 comedy Catastrophe.
