Harry Styles and Prince Harry share a warm handshake as they’re introduced at the Dunkirk world premiere
HARRY STYLES and Prince Harry greeted each other with a firm handshake at tonight's Dunkirk world premiere in London.
The two heartthrobs - one a world famous singer, the other a royal - shared pleasantries on the red carpet inside the Odeon in Leicester Square.
Former One Direction man Harry wore a dapper black suit with a buttoned down white shirt and red cowboy boots, while the prince went for a navy suit on which he pinned his service medals.
After the brief chat with Styles, Harry made his way along the cast finishing with Tom Hardy, Sir Mark Rylance and Cillian Murphy, who he shared a laugh with.
Earlier in the day Prince Harry spent time with the Dunkirk veterans at Kensington Palace. The serviceman looked thrilled to see him as did Harry to see them.
Some of the veterans attended the premiere, with Harry making his way down the carpet with George Wagner.
Styles' character in the film is called Tommy and, despite controversy surrounding his selection for the film, both his fellow actors and producers on the film have defended him vehemently.
Cillian Murphy told the Radio Times, “Harry Styles is great. I had very few scenes with Harry but we got to hang out and I’ve got to say he’s a great, great kid, and really, really funny.”

He added: “Above all, Chris Nolan knows talent and would have cast Harry for a reason.”
Casting director Jon Papsidera backed up Murphy’s praise, telling GQ: “Harry was absolutely right for the role. As an actor he is unknown, but his readings made him an obvious choice. We thought he was fresh and interesting and he won the role.
“I don’t think he studied acting professionally and yet he won the role against some very well known actors. He read for me, then us collectively in London.
“He did half a dozen readings, coming back and forth and it was no easy task for him.”
