Love Island’s Craig Lawson reveals he would marry ‘ultimate wife’ Camilla Thurlow and reveals plans to meet after the show
LOVE Island dumpee Craig Lawson has hinted he sees wedding bells in his future with Camilla Thurlow, calling her the "ultimate wife".
Craig was head over heels for the Scottish beauty as soon as he entered the villa, and wasted no time making his feelings known.
And despite her recoupling with gorgeous underwear model Jamie Jewitt since the Islanders gave him the boot, Craig is still hopeful he could have a future with Camilla.
In an interview with the Daily Star he revealed: "Me and Camilla made plans to meet up outside of the show and I'd even love to have Camilla just as a friend.
"But it would be a shame if there wasn't any romance.
"I'd love to get to know her more as a person. I feel the same about her now as I did when I went into the show, if not even more.
"I'd love to see her and see if things could progress. What bloke wouldn't?
"She's the ultimate wife. I suppose I'll have to wait and see when she's out.
"What's not to love about Camilla? She was my favourite, just like she was for everyone else."
More from the villa
Craig was very intense with Camilla in the villa, after being brought in as part of a shock twist that saw the Islanders separated and new hopefuls brought in to create drama.
Though the public wasn't convinced by his intense declarations that she was "beautiful inside and out" and making romantic moves at every opportunity, Craig insists it was a genuine connection.
He said: "I liked her just like the nation did. I know that it came across as strong.
"But I'd watched the show for three weeks so I felt like I'd built a connection with her before I went in.
"I was a fan of Camilla before I went in and after meeting her I'm an even bigger fan.
"I was one of the people who felt for her in the Jonny situation and wanted to be a shoulder for her to cry on and wanted to protect her. When I got to know her she was even better in person."
He's also upset that so many viewers thought he was fabricating feelings for Camilla because he knew the public loved her.
He hit back: "I liked Camilla a lot, just like the nation. But that doesn't make me a gameplayer - that makes me a normal person.
"Being accused of pretending was probably the worst thing for me. The feelings I had were real.
"It's hard for me to grasp the idea that people think it wasn't real.
"But so long as Camilla doesn't feel that way, it's OK.
"I went in there all guns blazing and obviously tried to hit it off with her. I wore my heart on my sleeve 100%. I'm an all-or-nothing type of person.
"Apparently I made her couple of days really special and she was really happy and came out of her shell.
"So I don't regret it. I feel like I've done a good thing.
"I would never do anything to hurt Camilla. So putting on a front and lying is not something I would do."
