Coronation Street spoilers: Shona Ramsey returns to the cobbles on the anniversary of Kylie Platt’s death leaving David devastated
Shona's son Clayton murdered Kylie a year ago so her return isn't very welcome
SHONA Ramsey has returned to Coronation Street - and devastated David Platt as she came back on the anniversary of his murdered wife's death.
The cafe worker - who is played by actress Julia Goulding in the ITV soap - is the mother of Kylie's killer Clayton and fled the cobbles when David discovered her secret.
Viewers know that Shona was instrumental in helping Bethany Platt escape from Nathan Curtis' clutches, and now her return is orchestrated by Beth's mother Sarah, desperate to help her daughter.
In a desperate bid to gather evidence against Nathan, Sarah and boyfriend Gary go to extreme lengths to find more of Nathan's victims to get more evidence.
Confronting his sick helper Mel at the tanning salon, Sarah appeals to her better nature and begs her to help get justice for Bethany and tell the police everything she knows.
Later, Sarah and Gary become more determined than ever to ensure Nathan and his sick grooming gang are put in prison for a long time and visit a drop-in centre to look for more of his other victims.
Hoping to find some of Nathan’s other victims, Sarah and Gary call at the drop-in centre where Yasmeen and Rana are working as volunteers and get more than they bargained for.
As a despondent Sarah and Gary prepare to leave having found no-one who can help, they’re distracted by two girls rowing in the hall.
Sarah is left shocked when she realises one of the girls fighting is Shona and she forms a plan.
Deciding that her best hope of getting Nathan sent down is with Shona, his previous citim's help, she takes her home and incurs the wrath of David, not realising it's the anniversary of Kylie's death.

While David, Bethany, Gail, Audrey, Gemma and Max mark the anniversary of Kylie’s death with a picnic in the garden, David the dog escapes and as David runs out chasing he's left horrified to see Shona.
David rails at Billy ordering him to keep Shona well away from him, before storming inside and cancelling the picnic.
When Sarah explains how she’s doing everything she can to nail Nathan and Shona can help them, Bethany’s furious wishing she’d just let it drop.
But will Sarah be able to protect Bethany from what's coming?
