Kanye West ‘quits Tidal’ as feud with former BFF Jay-Z heats up after he dissed him on his new album 4:44
The rapper has reportedly pulled out of his deal with the streaming service amid rumours he believes he's owed $3million
KANYE West has reportedly QUIT streaming service Tidal as his feud with Jay-Z reaches a new peak.
The Heartless rapper, 40, is said to be unhappy with his pal after reportedly being targeted in Jay-Z’s new album, 4:44.
According to TMZ, Kanye is allegedly claiming that he is owed £2.3million ($3million) in royalties from the site after helping launch the network alongside Jay, Calvin Harris and Rihanna in 2015.
It is believed that his lawyers have therefore sent a letter terminating his attachment to Tidal and claiming the company is in breach of their contract.
The US gossip site also claims that this is the second of two letters sent from Kanye’s representatives – with the first allegedly being sent two weeks prior.
It is believed the argument stems a bonus never received from Kanye’s 2015 Saint Pablo album – after he reportedly brought in a million new users to the subscription service by releasing it exclusively to them.
Tidal have reportedly responded to the claims by assuring Kanye that he is under an exclusive contract with them and ‘threatened to sue if he moves his music elsewhere’.
The Sun Online has contacted Tidal and representatives of both Kanye and Jay-Z for comment.

The split comes just 24 hours after it was reported that Jay-Z appeared to brand his former protégé “insane” in a track on his new album.
In opening track Kill Jay Z- which the rapper claims is about “killing off the ego”- Jay makes it clear he’s talking about Kanye by starting out one section with: “You dropped outta school, you lost your principles.”
Kanye called his first album The College Dropout, leaving fans believing he is giving his old pal a dressing down.
The 47-year-old goes on: “But you ain’t the same, this ain’t KumbaYe / But you got hurt because you did cool by Ye.
“You gave him 20 million without thinkin’/ He gave you 20 minutes on stage, f*** was he thinkin’?
“‘F*** wrong with everybody?’ is what you sayin’/ But if everybody’s crazy, you’re the one that’s insane,” he concludes.
The numerous smack-downs appear to chastise Kanye and claims that he was leant a staggering amount of money to the Famous musician.
The slams come after Kanye ranted about Jay Z on stage last year, asking him to call him and begging him not to send one of his “killas” to finish him off.
On stage in late October, Kanye also accused Jay of neglecting him and his wife Kim Kardashian after her robbery ordeal.
The 40-year-old said: “Don’t call me, after the robbery, and say ‘how you feelin?’.
“You wanna know how I’m feelin? Come by the house. Bring the kids by the house. Like we’re brothers. Let’s sit down.”
