TELEVISION stars from across the board were hoping to grab an award at this year's TV Choice Awards - but only a few went home with gongs.

What are the TV Choice Awards and when did they take place?

The annual TV Choice Awards celebrate an array of talent from the small screen.

Everything from soaps stars to reality shows to documentaries are given honours on the night.

After viewers have voted for their favourites, the winners are then announced at a glitzy ceremony in London.

Held at The Dorchester hotel, the evening is always a very glamorous affair with a red carpet packed with famous faces.

This year's TV Choice Awards took place on Monday September 4.

They were hosted by Pointless star Richard Osman.
