Holby City star Jaye Jacobs promises ‘fireworks’ on her return – yet reveals she REFUSED to watch drama during her time off
The actress, 35, will soon resume her role as Donna Jackson in the BBC One medical drama
HOLBY City star Jaye Jacobs has promised fans "fireworks" as her character Donna Jackson makes her explosive comeback.
The actress, 35, gave fans a taste of what to expect when the staff nurse again makes her mark on the BBC medical drama following a six-year break.
On today's Lorraine show Jaye revealed her upcoming plot and quizzed: "did she marry the man she left with?
"She's coming back to do a good turn but as you know it's probably not.
"There's probably a lot more to it."
Talking of her character's interaction with Adrian 'Fletch' Fletcher (Alex Walkinshaw) she told show host Lorraine Kelly: "Those two, I think there's a few fireworks."
Jaye, who starred in BBC show Waterloo Road during her break from Holby, then admitted she hadn't been able to tune in for fear of missing out.
Lorraine asked: "Did you watch during your time off?" to which she quipped: "I didn't. It is like a party you were not invited to."
She then added she hoped her return would be a lengthy one after having been given a year-long contract at least.
Last week, The Sun exclusively revealed Holby is in crisis as the soap loses two million viewers in a year.
In a further blow to the soap, fans have hit out at inaccuracies over storylines.
Earlier this year, Gemma Oaten’s character Nurse Somers was criticised for wearing her hair down when nurse protocol requires staff to keep it tied up.
