DRAG sensation Courtney Act is one of six famous faces searching the world for love on MTV’s new dating show Single AF – and she’s keeping a very open mind about who she would like to date.
The 35-year-old drag performer (also known as Shane Jenek) joins a line-up alongside Geordie Shore’s Marnie Simpson, former X Factor star Casey Johnson, Teen Mom star Farrah Abraham, Celebrity Big Brother twins Jedward, and YouTube star Elliot Crawford.
The cast will be travelling the world to find dates, and it sounds like Courtney will be keeping an open mind when it comes to who she will date while ultimately giving viewers a different perspective on 21st century dating.
“I’m aware that some people may have some sensitivity to dating somebody who is sometimes a girl and sometimes a boy," the drag star told The Sun Online ahead of the show launch in Camden, London, on Monday.

"I’m looking for someone who is very comfortable with themselves and confident," she says - adding she won't restrict herself just to men (or just one person) in the pursuit of finding The One.
“I’ve been extremely attracted to women and I’ve had relations with women and I’m not even opposed to exploring that on Single AF,” the Australian star said.
“I like guys, I like girls, I’m interested in going on a date with a trans guy. I identify as pan sexual which means I am attracted to many genders. I identify as polyamorous which means that I feel I can be in love with more than one person at once,” she said.
Many people will already recognise Courtney from her time on RuPaul’s Drag Race (a show not dissimilar to America’s Next Top Model but featuring drag queens competing to win instead of models) from which she has built a fan base that support her headline stage performances and music releases all over the world.
The star reveals she would consider dating some of her fans during the Single AF experience.
“Interestingly, the majority of the [RuPaul’s Drag Race] audience is girls aged 16 to 25-ish. I think they just love that drag is all about self-identifying and creating your image the way you want it and not the way other people tell you to,” she says.
“There is a real Girl Power aspect to drag and I think girls really enjoy that. But then also the boyfriends of all these girls are realising that there is something really entertaining about drag,” she said.
After pondering for a brief moment, she adds: “I’m hoping on Single AF I wouldn’t steal someone’s boyfriend, but maybe join them. Is that in the guidelines? I’ll need to check. To go on a date with a couple – that would be interesting.”
With the show launching in Camden on Monday, Courtney was able to meet Marnie Simpson, 25 (“she’s just gorgeous”), Jedward, 25 (“they’re like one of those toys you wind up and just let go”) and Casey Johnson, 22 (“The lovely thing about Casey is that often with men when you’re in drag they will sexualise you, but with Casey it is like he is a mate”).
However meeting Teen Mom star Farrah Abraham and YouTube star Elliot Crawford led Courtney to an alarming conclusion.
“I’m 35! Doesn’t that make me ancient? I mean Farrah is a mum and she’s only 25. And then I was like, ‘wait! Elliot is 20, and I’m 35… I could have been his Teen Mom.’ Like literally,” she laughs.
